Kindergarten Career Day!

Our Kindergarten Chiefs had a great time learning about so many different careers today! A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for sharing your time and talents with our students.

We loved seeing our littles Chiefs dream BIG!

Big shoutout to Miss Smithwick, Teacher of the Month, and to Mrs. Maria, Staff Member of the Month. We are so lucky to have each of you in our Sawnee Family! Thank you for all you do!

Curiosity was on full display in Mrs. Adams' science lab! 🔬✨
Kindergarten students discovered how objects move with pushes and pulls, first graders explored the tools meteorologists use to study weather, and second graders put their engineering skills to the test by designing bird nests using materials with different properties such as flexibility, strength, softness, and weight.
When students get to explore, create, and investigate, science comes alive!

Our House Buddy program is off to a fantastic start!

Students in Mrs. Hahn's 2nd grade class and Mrs. Bentley's 4th grade class, along with Ms. Wiggins' 2nd graders and Mrs. Cagle's 4th graders, recently met with their House Buddies to begin building new friendships across grade levels. Students enjoyed getting to know one another through activities like a "Roll and Tell" game and shared reading time together, both indoors and outside.

We love providing opportunities for our students to connect, build community, and create meaningful relationships with peers from different grade levels.

Reminder: Next week is FCS Fall Break for our students and school staff members. We will return on Monday, October 5th! We hope you have a great week!

West Forsyth is hosting basketball tryouts for girls in 4th-8th grades on Oct. 4 & 11th from 3:30-5:30 pm in the West Forsyth HS gym.

Today, our students honored Constitution Day by signing our very own Sawnee Preamble! Just as the Constitution begins with a promise to work together for a stronger nation, our students pledged to help create a positive, supportive, and successful school community.

Ms. Akers’ Garden Club has been busy caring for our school vegetable garden.

There’s something special about seeing our students learn that when we nurture something with patience and care, amazing things can grow.

We had another round of 'Lucky Tray Day' in Cafe 1! The kids were super excited to find a sticker on the bottom of their breakfast tray this morning. A variety of prizes to choose from made for tough decisions 😁. Can't wait for the October Lucky Tray Day!
