On September 11, 2001, I was pregnant with my daughter, Elizabeth. Like so many Americans, I watched in disbelief as the events of that morning unfolded, knowing that our country, and the world my child would soon enter, had changed forever.

When Elizabeth was 10 years old, we visited the 9/11 Memorial and stood together beside the reflecting pools. As we read the names and took in the magnitude of all that was lost, we talked about the impact of that day, the innocent lives taken, the bravery of our first responders, the families forever changed, and the way our nation came together in the days that followed.

It was important to me that she understand that September 11 is more than a chapter in a history book. It is a day that forever changed how we live, how we protect one another, and how deeply we value the freedoms we share.

Twenty-five years later, I still remember the heartbreak, fear, and uncertainty of that day, but I also remember the courage, compassion, and unity that followed.

May we continue to tell their stories, honor their sacrifices, and teach future generations why we must never forget. 🇺🇸

Apollo and I had a wonderful morning participating in the Great Southeast Pollinator Count at the Ag-Ed Center! 🦋🐝 We enjoyed learning about pollinators and spotted five butterflies, one dragonfly, and several tiny bees! 🌼

I had so much fun flipping blueberry pancakes at the Whitesburg Public Library’s final Summer Reading Program. Thank you to the amazing library staff for inviting me, and congratulations to the Johnson family on winning the Carroll County prize. It was a wonderful way to wrap up a great summer! 💙📚🥞

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch with Dr. Jessica Ainsworth to celebrate her first day as the new Carroll County School Superintendent.

It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another and talk about how we can work together to better serve the students, families, and citizens of Carroll County. I look forward to building a strong partnership and wish Dr. Ainsworth much success as she begins this exciting new chapter.

I was truly honored to be part of this special celebration with my friend Mary Walker, Pastor Randy Simpkins, and so many others.

The day marked more than just a milestone, it marked the beginning of an important ministry that will provide hope, support, and encouragement to our citizens and community.

Congratulations to my friends and their church family on this wonderful achievement. I can’t wait to see the difference this ministry will make in the lives of others.

Already a familiar name in Carrollton, Dande DoggiCo continues to grow with the opening of their second location. We were proud to celebrate this milestone and recognize the continued success of this locally owned business.
