I’ve been a little MIA since the illness and passing of Sky Pritchett last month.

Slowly but surely, I’m starting to feel more like myself again.

Also, the fog of depression has begun to lift, the weight of grief feels a little lighter, and I’m finally finding my way back to my routine. Just keeping to my standard for this super hot summer has been a cute top, shorts, and comfy sandals.

I know some people might think, “It’s just a dog.” But anyone who’s loved a pet knows they’re never just a dog. Sky was family. She was also the last living connection to Jesse’s dad and also completed the trio that shaped so many of our happiest memories alongside Indy Pritchett and Harley Pritchett.

From bringing Indy home in Alaska in 2012, to Harley in 2014, and Sky in 2019, those three gave us years of laughter, comfort, adventures, and unconditional love. They truly broke the mold for us as pet owners.

We’re incredibly grateful to still have our sweet pups, Lennie Pritchett and Jolene Pritchett, but every season of life is different. While nothing will ever replace what we had, we’re choosing to carry those memories with us while making room for new ones.

Grief is really just love with nowhere to go. And if there’s one thing Sky taught us, it’s that the love we share with our pets never truly leaves us. 🤍
