Today we kicked off the 26-27 VRHS Homecoming festivities with our annual VR Gold Rush and Homecoming Parade! It was great to see our cluster schools, students and parents celebrating the VR Cluster! We are excited to celebrate our schools, Homecoming court, and students next week!

Villa Rica High School and our CTAE department were incredibly proud to host this year’s CTAE Advisory Board Meeting!

We were thrilled to invite and welcome community members from around Carroll County and industry partners to our campus to hear from VRHS, along with Temple High School (THS), Bowdon High School (BHS), Central High School (CHS), and Mt. Zion High School (MZHS). Together, we showcased the incredible things happening in our classrooms and how our career pathways and future course offerings are actively preparing students for life after graduation. Our ultimate goal is to equip them with the skills they need to become successful, contributing members of society.

Community members also had a chance to hear our VRHS FBLA Vice President speak about the club, how it works, the purpose, and how impactful it is for the students who participate.

A crucial part of this process is listening to the needs of our local workforce and educational institutions. We had the invaluable opportunity to gather direct feedback from community leaders—including Carroll EMC, the University of West Georgia (UWG), and West Georgia Technical College (WGTC)—about exactly what they are looking for in our future graduates.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out and shared their insights! Your feedback is vital in helping us continuously adapt, improve, and better prepare our students for their bright futures.

Thank you to UGA Admissions Representative Blanca Rahman and Ga Tech Admissions Representative Sean Kilgore for coming out to speak with students about their schools' admissions process. Our students had some great questions about preparing their applications and what life is like on each campus. We look forward to seeing their success in the coming years!

VRHS National Honors Society members were so thrilled to meet our future Wildcats last night! A huge thank you to all the 8th-grade students and parents who came out to discover what it means to be a 9th grader at VRHS and to check out all the incredible clubs and organizations we have to offer.

It was wonderful sharing information about the National Honor Society (NHS) with you all. While NHS is an organization you work toward joining as a sophomore, 9th grade is the perfect time to start building your foundation! By focusing on our four pillars—Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character—you can set yourself up for a future invitation to join this prestigious group.

Keep those grades up, look for ways to help your community, and get ready for an amazing high school journey. We can’t wait to see you shine next year!
