Today marks SEVENTEEN years since our first full-length album, Thin Skin And An Open Heart was released!
After the success of both Anthology and the Facedown I was asked if Pacifico would like to make a full length, and if so, who we’d want to produce it. My first answer was Jason Martin, the frontman for my favorite band, Starflyer 59. The label asked and he agreed. So, both myself and CJ flew to California and recorded this album in a storage container that had been converted into a rehearsal/recording studio by the band Project 86. Preproduction was done by our friends in Manchester Orchestra, drums by the drummer for Stavesacre, bass by Project 86’s bassist, and Jason Martin even contributed some guitar, keys, and percussion. I think this album perfectly captures the sound of California and a burnt out sensitive musician.
