✈️ Engineers inspire. Scholars fly!

Our scholars took learning beyond the lesson! After watching engineers explore the design process, they put their own creativity to work by designing and building different types of paper airplanes.

They collaborated, tested their ideas, made adjustments, and then took the learning outside for the ultimate challenge: Which plane could fly the farthest? 🏆✈️

This is what hands-on learning looks like: teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and a whole lot of fun! 💜💛

There’s nothing better than seeing these smiles when something that was once challenging starts to CLICK! 💜💛

We’re only one week in, and our scholars are already showing us what happens when they keep trying, practice their skills, and begin to recognize just how capable they are.

These moments may seem small, but they’re BIG to us. Every completed assignment, new skill, correct answer, and proud smile is another step toward greater confidence. 📚✨

This scholar decided he needed a little brain break between assignments, and his creativity took over! 💡 From sorting and problem-solving to building his own creation, he found a fun way to reset before getting back to work.

At Legacy Learning Loft, we recognize that learning doesn’t always have to look like sitting at a desk completing an assignment. Creativity, exploration, play, and movement are part of the learning process too. 💜💛

We love giving our scholars space to listen to what they need, recharge, and let their imaginations work.

And judging by that creation… his imagination was definitely working! 😂👏🏾

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: WRITING GROWTH! ✍🏾📚

Growth like this deserves to be celebrated!

Kari joined us for Summer Writing Boot Camp, where one of our major focuses was strengthening the structure and organization of his writing.

After reading Animal Farm and The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Kari was challenged to write an essay connecting ideas about power and corruption across both texts.

⏱️ And here's the part we're especially proud of: he completed this essay in ONE HOUR!

He set his timer, organized his thoughts, developed his argument, incorporated evidence from both texts, compared the two works, and brought his ideas together in a structured essay.

Seeing the difference in his writing from the beginning of the year to now is SO exciting. 🥹💜

This is what progress looks like. Not perfection; growth, practice, confidence, and the ability to independently apply what you've learned.
