Thanks to all the kids, parents and community members of all ages who showed up to spend time outdoors counting bees, butterflies and other pollinators as part of the annual census.

The hot & humid weather did not stop our community from showing up.
What makes events like this so special isn’t just the data we collect. It’s the curiosity we spark in our kids, the connections we build with our neighbors and the reminder that everyone can play a role in supporting our environment.

We’re Doing It Again: Join for the Great Pollinator Census 🐝

Atlanta is returning to the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. This year, we’re heading to the Chastain Park Native Plant Garden for a morning of counting, learning and hands-on fun.

Last year, TEDxAtlanta contributed to the 13,432 pollinator counts submitted by Georgians. This data helps researchers study the economic value of pollination, shows city planners where more pollinator habitats are needed and helps growers and gardeners understand which pollinators live in their communities.

Data submitted by 2025 Pollinator Census participants led to the creation of 395 new sustainable pollinator habitats across Georgia.
