I’m going to say this, and it may offend some people, but it needs to be said!
EVERY PREACHER IS NOT MEANT TO BE A PASTOR!
Too many people are being misled and mishandled, and when the sheep find themselves in a real battle and need the wisdom, teaching, and spiritual maturity necessary to fight the good fight of faith, all they have to fall back on are cute catchphrases and sayings they’ve heard their pastor repeat.
Catchphrases sound good in church, but you cannot fight spiritual battles with catchphrases!
You need the WORD OF GOD!
Psalm 103:19–21 ESV
“The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will!”
THE ANGELS OBEY THE VOICE OF GOD’S WORD!
So here’s the question:
If your prayers are not saturated with the Word of God, what are you praying?
We have to stop treating prayer like a collection of catchy phrases and start understanding the authority of praying according to the Word and will of God.
You have a mighty heavenly army, but angels do not move simply because you said something loudly, emotionally, or repeatedly. They are God’s servants. They respond in obedience to HIS WORD and HIS WILL!
That means I need to KNOW the Word.
I need to PRAY the Word.
I need to DECLARE the Word.
I need to STAND on the Word.
When sickness comes, I need the Word.
When fear comes, I need the Word.
When the enemy attacks my family, I need the Word.
When my finances are under pressure, I need the Word.
When my faith is being tested, I NEED THE WORD!
This is why sound biblical teaching matters. A pastor’s responsibility is not simply to make the sheep shout on Sunday. The shepherd must teach the sheep how to survive on Monday!
Because when the music stops, the church doors close, and you find yourself standing in a battle by yourself, you need more than something catchy to repeat.
YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT GOD SAID!
Prayers not being answered?
Before you conclude that God isn’t listening…
