Your boss doesn't owe you a promotion.
I know that's uncomfortable.
But it's the truth that changes everything.
Promotions aren't about who's ready or who's proven themselves the most. They happen when the business has a need and a leader picks the person they trust.
That trust comes down to three things.
Can you do the job.
Do you have the energy to take it on. Are you easy to work with.
That last one is wildly underestimated.

I used to show up like my hair was on fire.
