I’m learning that the most powerful communication
isn’t loud — it lingers.

Spaces where ideas don’t just get heard — they get wrestled with. Carried. And lived out after you leave.

Creative. Innovative. Impactful. Direct to the culture in a way that moves people to action.

That’s the kind of communication I’m building toward. 💬

Last time I lived in Austin (2015–16ish) people jokingly called it the “Millennial Disneyland.” 🙋‍♂️

Full of post-college 20-somethings spending their days drinking craft coffee, paddleboarding on Town Lake, working from patios, and enjoying live music and nightlife, in a city that felt built for lifestyle-first.

A decade later, Austin has grown into something bigger. Less
quirky college town, and more of a global cultural destination.

East Austin, with all its grit, memory and creative edge, feels exactly like the kind of place where 2.0 in the city belongs.

The best part of the night wasn’t just thr energy in the room (I love launch events) it was hearing the story behind the space, and connecting in person.

shared the history of Owen’s Garage and what it’s represented in the neighborhood for years. A local space, now reimagined (not rebuilt) for a new era.

💯 Worth the trip from Dallas. I left inspired. 10/10 night! 🙌🏽

I’ve lived in a handful of cities here in the US so far — mainly, Los Angeles, Dallas and Austin. 📍

And spent time in dozens of others.

And the more I’ve paid attention, the more I’ve realized:

Cities aren’t created equal.

Some are built to preserve. Others are built to become.

Frontier cities (LA, Austin, Miami, CDMX)

•You arrive unfinished
•Identity is fluid
•Access is looser
•Reinvention is normal

Institutional cities (NYC, Dallas, Chicago, DC)

•Systems are already defined
•Power is structured
•Access is gated
•You learn how to navigate — not reinvent

Neither is better/worse.

But they will shape you — how you think, who you meet, what’s possible and the speed things move.

The question is:

Where are YOU in your life right now? 💭

Are you building something new?
Or stepping into something established?

A few thoughts. 💭 Coming up on one year in this city!

1. It’s not one region — the City of Dallas is made up of dozens of thriving, urban core neighborhoods, including: Knox/Henderson, Deep Ellum, Uptown, Oak Cliff (north/south) and East Dallas (with its own micro communities).

2. Unlike some major cities, this one wants you want to put down roots and stay a while. Trust is earned, and bearing fruit takes time — no matter the speed of the vision.

3. There is a phenomenal amount of capital here — both economic and creative. It takes time to tap into. Those with the skill/talent to bridge the many gaps in the cultural ecosystem are rare!

4. Think generationally — Dallas didn’t go from a single settler in a cabin along the Trinity River to a thriving, nationally and globally-prominent metropolis overnight. True impact can take years. But it will outlast you! 💥

In the middle of the country. 📍

Heading upstream — Like Lewis and Clark and the tribes before them.

Always going against the current of the culture.

Praying for peace. Yearning for clarity.

Born and raised in the middle. Fled to the west.

Back here again.

Ready to begin again.

Without Christmas — There is no Easter.

Without His birth — We have no Rebirth.
