Impact Austin is a women's collective giving group that has given $9.45 MILLION to local nonprofits. Join us! Each member casts one vote.
Impact Austin combines annual donations from members and gives multiple grants each year to local, worthy causes selected by our members. Our membership requirements are simply to be female and to donate $1,250 each year. Beyond this, each member can be as engaged or uninvolved as she chooses. One thousand dollars of each member’s donation goes to our grant recipients. We keep our overhead costs low by using a primarily volunteer staff and tapping into the talent pool of our membership. We are committed to running Impact Austin efficiently. Grant applications are accepted in one of the following focus areas:
Community
Education
Equity
Health and Well-Being
Members may volunteer to serve on committees to review grant applications and recommend finalists in each focus area. Grant finalists make presentations at our annual meeting in June of each year to share their stories with members and learn the outcome of the voting. The majority vote decides the winning grant recipients. Although members are welcome to volunteer on committees and events, and are encouraged to attend the annual meeting, we require no specific time commitment.

Our 2023 grant to Austin Creative Reuse purchased a trailer that became the Materials Mobile. This post from ACR shows our grant in ACTION! They wrote:
"Our Materials Mobile recently visited Pickle Elementary to help their teachers stock up for a successful start to the new school year! During the visit, educators were able to select the materials they need for their classrooms at no cost to them, and we distributed an estimated 219 pounds of materials to fourteen educators, serving approximately 450 students! 🎒✏️📚
We're thrilled to be able to bring these materials directly to schools and save educators the trip of coming to our center and purchasing supplies out of their own pockets. We're all about supporting educators so that they can support their students!

Member Beth Thorson shared, "It was inspiring to hear [the Sep 9] Metropolitan Breakfast Club [MBC] presentation from Dr. Liz Schoenfeld, LifeWorks CEO. She acknowledged the impact our first grant in 2004 had on their organization, and then provided an update on the great work they are doing now." https://bit.ly/4dCJxgJ LifeWorks has been awarded four Impact Austin grants.
Attending the MBC were Impact Austin members Irene Lane, Sara Pantin in 10th anniversary Impact Austin t-shirt, Dr. Schoenfeld, Carol Lauder, and Beth Thorson.
