Tatiana, Max, and the enduring nature of film.
When you revisit a place you haven’t been to in years; is it really the same place? Are you the same person? It’s beautiful, and yet, so painful to be reminded of a version of yourself that no longer exists.
What is left then? Only memory? A feeling?
What about the rush in your chest when you see her walking down the aisle. The first steps on the world that you built together. The sound of all the cheers as you walk into the pickle ball court where the walls are draped and the floors are covered in rugs. Lit by 200 candles and the light in the eyes of those there to usher you into your new life. When you watch your wedding film in 40, 50, 60 years, is it even the same film?
No, it’s never really the same film. It’s never really the same place. Because The person that experienced those moments no longer exists. They have been transformed by time and love. Because to be loved is to be changed.
The film becomes more precious with time.
It gets more valuable with time as you watch the old versions of yourself fade more and more into memory. It endures through time and reminds you of those moments, those people, those feelings. It reignites the fire and you fall in love all over again. And again. And again.
That is the enduring nature of film.

This weekend couldn’t have belonged to anyone else but Luke and Natalia. A perfectly crafted, summer camp getaway at Dawn Ranch under the redwoods.
Wildflowers surrounded the ceremony, one of the most exciting first dances, and the whole day wrapped up in a boiler room style after party that left its mark on every one of their guests, literally.
