In 2026, Phoenix LiDAR entered a new chapter with its acquisition by Geosystems.

This milestone marked a strategic step forward, bringing together shared expertise, expanded resources, and a continued focus on delivering high-performance geospatial solutions to customers around the world.

With a strong foundation built over the past 14 years, this next phase positions Phoenix LiDAR to scale further, innovate faster, and continue supporting the evolving needs of the geospatial industry.

Our mission remains the same, but now strengthened by a larger team, greater resources, and expanded capabilities.

In 2025, Phoenix LiDAR reached an exciting new milestone, hosting our very first SOAR event.

What started as a vision to bring customers, partners, and industry professionals together became a space to share knowledge, explore new technology, and connect with the people behind the lidar data.

From live demonstrations to hands-on conversations, SOAR marked a new chapter for Phoenix, one focused not just on building LiDAR systems but on building a stronger community for our users.

It’s a milestone we’re proud of, and just the beginning of what’s to come with live lidar demo events.

In 2024, Phoenix LiDAR introduced the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗗 𝗨𝗣𝟭, our first fully integrated pod solution for certified manned aircraft.

Designed for Cessna 172, 182, and 206 platforms, the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗗 𝗨𝗣𝟭 combines LiDAR sensors, imagery, software, and mission guidance into a streamlined aerial mapping solution that can be installed in minutes with no aircraft modifications required.

Built for flexibility and efficiency, the system supports a wide range of survey and mapping applications while giving operators real-time acquisition feedback, in-flight data validation, and seamless LiDAR and imagery fusion workflows.

The launch of the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗗 𝗨𝗣𝟭 marked another major expansion of the Phoenix LiDAR ecosystem, bringing our integrated workflow approach into the world of manned airborne mapping.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗟𝗶𝗗𝗔𝗥 | 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

In 2023, Phoenix LiDAR expanded its mobile mapping capabilities with the launch of the 𝗥𝗙𝗠𝟮, our dual-headed mobile mapping system featuring a removable 𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥-𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗫 payload.

Designed for demanding transportation and infrastructure projects, the 𝗥𝗙𝗠𝟮 combines dual RIEGL scanners, industry-leading IMU performance, and a flexible modular design to deliver exceptional accuracy, coverage, and efficiency in the field. With collection speeds reaching up to 2.4 million measurements per second, the system was engineered to maximize productivity without compromising data quality.

What makes the 𝗥𝗙𝗠𝟮 especially unique is its adaptability. The removable 𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥-𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗫 head quickly transitions between mobile, UAV, and backpack configurations, bringing true multi-platform flexibility to survey-grade mapping workflows.

The launch of the 𝗥𝗙𝗠𝟮 represented another major step in Phoenix LiDAR’s evolution toward scalable, high-performance mapping solutions built for real-world applications.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗟𝗶𝗗𝗔𝗥 | 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮

In 2022, Phoenix LiDAR released 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 7, delivering major advancements for mobile mapping workflows and high-accuracy data processing.

This release expanded the capabilities of LiDARSnap with new optimization models for robust mobile strip alignment, the ability to use a control point cloud, and improved calibration tools for complex datasets. At the same time, new features like CloudClean automated surface noise removal, while enhanced interactive classification tools gave users greater control over fine detail cleanup.

Designed to support airborne, mobile, and multi-platform datasets within a single workflow, 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 7 marked another major step forward in creating a more complete and efficient LiDAR processing ecosystem.
