Random HIIT doesn’t “fix” cortisol.
It spikes it.
Do that on repeat with no recovery and you’re not boosting metabolism — you’re living in fight-or-flight.
That environment:
❌ doesn’t build muscle
❌ doesn’t rebuild metabolism
❌ leaves you exhausted and still stressed
I’m not anti-intensity. I’m anti-random.
Progressive strength. Enough protein. Sleep you protect. Intensity you earn.
Capacity first. Cosmetics follow.

More sweat doesn’t mean more progress.
If you’re doing HIIT 5x a week, barely recovering, under fueling, and skipping progressive strength training, adding MORE intensity probably isn’t what your body needs.
Especially in midlife.
I’m not anti HIIT. I’m anti exhaustion.
Build muscle. Fuel your training. Prioritize recovery. Then use intensity strategically.
The goal isn’t to see how much stress your body can survive.
It’s to build how much stress your body can handle.
Capacity first. The body follows.
That’s the BUILD STRONG order.
DM me BUILD if you’re ready to stop chasing exhaustion and start building resilience.
Push ups aren’t just about your chest and triceps. Your shoulder blades need to MOVE.
As you lower, your scapulae naturally retract as your chest moves toward the floor.
As you push up, think “push the floor away” and allow your shoulder blades to protract around your rib cage.
Don’t pin your shoulder blades back.
Don’t shrug into your ears.
Don’t let your shoulders collapse forward.
Master the position first, then progress the load.
Wall → elevated → floor → deficit or weighted.
Strong push ups start with strong scapular control. 💪

Welcome to page and let’s get after it 💪
Know the difference 👇
Wide grip vs. narrow neutral grip lat pulldown.
Both train your lats, but they don’t train them exactly the same way.
WIDE GRIP
More shoulder abduction
More upper back involvement
Typically shorter range of motion
Think: elbows out, pull the bar toward the upper chest
NARROW NEUTRAL GRIP
Elbows stay closer to your body
Greater shoulder extension and range of motion
Often lets you use more load
Think: drive your elbows down toward your hips
Neither is “better.”
The better variation depends on what you’re trying to train.
Want a wider back? Don’t just change the weight.
Change the angle. Change the grip. Know what you’re training. 💪
Save this for your next pull day.
Wide grip vs. narrow-neutral grip lat pulldown. Know the difference. 👇
Both build your back—but they emphasize the movement differently.
WIDE GRIP
✓ Elbows flare out
✓ More upper-lat and teres major emphasis
✓ Shorter range of motion
✓ Cue: pull elbows down and out
NARROW-NEUTRAL GRIP
✓ Elbows stay closer
✓ Greater range of motion
✓ Strong lat involvement through shoulder extension
✓ More biceps contribution
✓ Cue: drive elbows toward your hips
Neither is better.
Choose the variation that matches your goal, anatomy, and control.
Don’t just move weight. Know what you’re training.
BUILD STRONG. Train with intention 💪
