Project 046: Custom Topo Coffee Table.

Our most recent topo table, featuring the breathtaking terrain of the Himalayan Mountains, serves as both a conversation starter and a functional centerpiece for our client’s living room. The table features solid cedar construction and an open bottom supported by square columns, providing a more substantial style than our typical tables featuring hairpin legs. The piece was finished with a tinted danish oil to protect the surface while highlighting the cedar grain.

Project 042: Topo Table, Lake Crescent.

This topographic table features the terrain of Lake Crescent in Washington state. My client wanted to display the natural beauty of this region and remind them of special memories made there.

The topography was taken from USGS datasets, converted into a Digital Elevation Model using QGIS and manipulated in Autodesk Fusion before being engraved on a ShopBot CNC Router. The rest of the table was handmade in solid cherry. The signature Topoform copper patina was applied on the topography to give it the metallic texture. A sheet of tempered glass covers the inlay and completes the table.

The table was hand-delivered in December, just in time to serve as a surprise holiday gift.
