Molly Jong

Well, today was humbling. 😂🀄️

I played Siamese Mahjong with a weekly group at The Crescent and my partner was Debbie and I met her when we sat down to play. When she found out I am a mahjong teacher, she got a little nervous. I told her not to be. Mahjong is skill & a lot of luck, and I definitely lose games.

Then Debbie proceeded to beat me 4 out of 5 games. 🤣

FOUR. OUT. OF. FIVE.

I kept waiting for my luck to change, but apparently the Mahjong gods had other plans.

The funny thing is, I actually win more often than I lose, so getting beat 4-1 definitely got my attention. It reminded me of Mahjong camp in Fairhope when I couldn’t win a game to save my life the first day, lost every game that night, lost every game the next morning…and then the tournament afternoon everything shifted & I won the whole thing!!! That’s Mahjong. Some days the tiles love you, and some days they keep you humble.

But honestly, the best part of today wasn’t the score.

Debbie and I talked business, swapped numbers, became Facebook friends, shared lots of laughs, and made a new friendship. As it turns out, she’s been in her direct selling business for 30 years, so we had plenty to talk about besides Mahjong.

So today’s final score:

🏆 Molly: 1
💗 New Mahjong friend: 1
😂 Humble Mahjong teacher: 1

I’d call that a pretty good day.

Okay y’all…I am SO EXCITED about this! 🩷🀄️💚

Molly-Jong at will be my very first Mahjong event outside of Baton Rouge, and I can’t think of a more perfect place than beautiful St. Francisville.

St. Francisville is one of my favorite places, and I’m thrilled to bring Molly-Jong there for a fun day of mahjong, prizes, girlfriends, and lots of laughs.

We’ll finish with plenty of time to enjoy lunch, shop, and explore one of Louisiana’s most charming small towns.
