Big thanks to and for helping us to celebrate our volunteers! These businesses show our community some love, so let's show them some love in return. We appreciate your support, Ovn and Kulshan! And as always, big thanks to our volunteers for showing up for the kids in our community, even when they give you nicknames like Farmer Rizz and Alfredo Linguini...

We had to say goodbye to our trusty old Prius this winter. 253,000 miles is a lot and we're thankful for all the memories she helped us make in classrooms and gardens, from Sumas to Lummi Nation to Bellingham.
The story of how we got this vehicle is a true story of what our friends at call salmon love, which means basically being generous always, like the fish that have fed our bioregion since time immemorial. We were so thankful to receive this vehicle just when we needed her most. Thank you, Team Nerka, for always looking out for your community! But all good things must come to an end, and we used the Cars for Homes program to benefit to give her one last good deed.
It turns out that this Prius was basically our dream car. High passenger capacity, high hauling capacity, and excellent gas mileage? Yes please! If you or someone you know loves what we do and is looking to give a community org a good deal or donate such a vehicle, ideally with a bit less than 250k miles, please let us know.

Spring is just around the corner, and our Food Truck team is out in the community engaging kids and families with seeds! This week, we examined seed parts and the volume of seeds in containers with beans, and enjoyed juicy veggie burgers made with lentils 😋🍔
Did you know Basil the Food Truck serves around 135 free after school meals a week? Shout out to our food truck team--this school year, Farmer Eric nd Farmer Claire have served nearly 3,000 free meals to our community where the need for nourishing food is highest, while also engaging families in seed-to-table education activities!

Highlighting plant-based protein and an introduction to traditional medicinal uses for spices, this dish has been popular in our after school clubs as well 😋
What's another recipe that activates all 5 of your senses?
