MYTH: During perimenopause you should avoid heavier resistance training and stick to light weights.
TRUTH: Your body still responds to progressive strength training. Challenging muscles appropriately can help support muscle mass, bone density, strength, and long term function.
"Heavier" does not mean max effort or unsafe. It simply means providing your body enough challenge to adapt.
The goal is not to make exercise harder. The goal is to make your body stronger and more capable over time.

Did You Know strength training can improve your reaction time? 💪🧠
Strength training not only helps you stay strong, it can also improve your reaction time.
As we age, our muscles and nervous system naturally become slower at responding to changes in our environment. Strength and power training can help improve how quickly your body reacts, which is important for catching yourself if you trip, stepping off a curb, or changing direction safely.
In other words, training your muscles to move with intent may help you stay independent, confident, and active for years to come.
At UpLift Training, we don't just train for bigger muscles. We train for real-life strength that helps you move better and live fully.

MYTH: Brain fog, forgetfulness, and difficulty concentrating during perimenopause are just things you have to accept.
TRUTH: Hormonal changes during perimenopause can affect cognitive function, but strength training may help support brain health. Research suggests that resistance training can improve blood flow (and nutrient delivery) to the brain, enhance cognitive performance, reduce stress, and support mood and mental well-being.
Strength training isn't just about preserving muscle and bone. It's also an investment in your brain, helping you stay sharp, resilient, and confident as you navigate this transition.
At UpLift Training, we believe strength training is one of the most powerful tools for supporting both physical and cognitive health, so you can continue showing up fully for the activities and people you love.

Did you know your hands can influence your strength? 🧊💪
Cooling your hands between sets may help you produce more force and maintain performance during training. As your body heats up, fatigue can set in more quickly. Lowering the temperature of your palms may help you stay cooler, recover better between sets, and keep your power output higher.
It's not magic—it's physiology.
At UpLift Training, we're always looking at the details that can help you train smarter, perform better, and get more from your workouts.
Have you ever tried using cooling strategies during your training?
If you are waiting for the right time this is it
Because the right time is not when life calms down
It is when you decide to support your body through it
It is one of the most powerful ways to stay strong resilient and capable
You do not need experience
You just need a place that knows how to guide you
