I structure my business so I never have to choose between a closing and my daughter's dance rehersal. Between a site visit and family dinner. Between growing wealth and being present for life.
Too many entrepreneurs wear burnout like a badge of honor. They brag about 80-hour weeks, sacrificing everything for "the grind." I did that in medicine. It almost cost me everything that mattered.
Now I build differently: businesses that serve my life, not consume it. Deals that create freedom, not obligations. Wealth that buys back time, not just things.
That's the real win.

People ask how I balance family and business. I don't balance them—I integrate them.
My kids see me working on deals. They see the property visits, the negotiations, the wins and the setbacks. They're learning that building wealth isn't about grinding yourself into the ground—it's about creating systems that work for you.
The goal isn't to retire at 65 and finally start living. The goal is to build a life you don't need to retire from.
That starts with being present now, not someday.

Sunday with Madelyn. The business exists to create moments like this—not compete with them.
If your work is stealing time from your family, you're building the wrong thing. Period.

Sundays are sacred. No business calls. No 'quick emails.' Just time with the people who matter most.
I left medicine because I was tired of postponing life until 'someday when I have more time.' Turns out, you don't find more time—you create it by building businesses that serve your life instead of consuming it.
This is what winning looks like. Not a corner office. Just presence.

Saturdays with the crew. This is what freedom looks like—not a vacation once a year, but a life you don't need to escape from.
I structure my business so weekends are protected. No calls. No closings. No 'emergencies' that pull me away from this.
If you're building a business that steals your weekends, you're doing it wrong.

From demo to dirt. The 619 SW 15th property in Redmond is officially cleared and ready for construction.
Took two weeks to take down the old structure and prep the land. Now we build. 16 affordable housing units coming to Central Oregon.
This is the messy middle that no one posts about—but it's the most important part.
You can't build something new until you clear out what's no longer serving you. True in real estate. True in life.

Beach days with the girls.
I didn't leave medicine and build multiple businesses so I could work 80-hour weeks for myself instead of a hospital. I did it so moments like this weren't "someday when I retire" moments.
The business exists to serve the life, not the other way around. If your work is stealing time from your family, you're building the wrong thing.
This is the real ROI.

Sundays are for the kids. No emails. No deals. No 'just one quick call.' This is non-negotiable time—and it's the most important work I do all week.
I didn't leave medicine to trade one form of burnout for another. I left to build a life where my kids don't wonder if I'm more interested in my phone than I am in them.
If your business requires you to work 7 days a week, you don't have a business—you have a job you can't quit. Build differently.

Vicente and I wrapped up all the paperwork today. Demo starts next week. Going to be sharing the full journey on this one—from dirt lot to finished units.
Redmond needs more affordable housing. Let's get to work.
