There is a difference between filling a child’s mind and awakening it.
At Syringa Classical Academy learning doesn’t begin with answers—it begins with wonder, questions and the desire to discover. We don’t just want children to know more. We want them to wonder more. Because a curious mind is the foundation of a great thinker. When children learn to delight in truth, goodness, and beauty, they discover that learning isn’t just about finding answers—it’s about developing a lifelong desire to keep asking meaningful questions.
What has your child asked recently that made you stop and think? Let us know in the comments. Check the link in our bio to learn more

Wonder isn’t something children outgrow. It’s something we can help them protect.
In a world that constantly tells children what to watch, what to think, and what to consume, we can create space for something different:
- Time to notice.
- Time to ask questions.
- Time to explore.
- Time to imagine.
Here are 5 simple habits that nurture a child’s natural curiosity and help cultivate a lifelong love of learning. Save this post to return to and send it to a friend who would like it.

Why are we still reading Homer nearly 3,000 years later?
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has brought one of the foundational works of Western literature back into the cultural conversation—and that is something worth paying attention to.

Homer’s Odyssey has endured because it wrestles with questions that never go out of date:

▪️What makes someone courageous?
▪️What does it mean to be faithful?
▪️What is a good life?
▪️What do we owe our families?
▪️What happens when our desires lead us astray?
▪️What kind of person should we become?

These aren’t merely ancient Greek questions.

They’re human questions.

And they are why great books belong in a classical education.

An American classical education is not simply giving children information, it is giving them a cultural inheritance they can carry with them for life.

📚 Have you seen The Odyssey yet? What classic would you love to see brought to the big screen next?

Save this post if you want to come back to the conversation about classical education—and send it to a parent who is curious about what makes a classical education different.

Less screen time. More connection. More wonder.

What if education wasn’t designed to keep children entertained—but to teach them to pay attention, think deeply, and love what is true, good, and beautiful?

That’s what makes American classical education different.

At Syringa, children won’t spend their days passively consuming information through screens. They’ll encounter great books, big ideas, real conversation, nature, art, history, and one another—learning to engage the world with curiosity, courage, and virtue.

Because the goal of education isn’t simply to prepare children for a career.

It’s to prepare them for a life well lived.

The education we choose shapes more than what our children know—it shapes who they become.

The goal of an American classical education is not simply to fill a mind, but to form a person who seeks truth, loves what is good, and lives with wisdom and virtue.
