The favorite holiday of many Allston/Brighton (and other Bostonians and Cantabrigians) is coming up next month. It’s Affectionately referred to ‘round these parts as “Allston Christmas.” Since most everyone moves in/out on September 1st, the last days and weeks of August are a scavenger’s heaven, where you can find everything from antique furniture to working TVs and kitchen appliances to crates of vinyl and bags of secondhand clothes (and a little of everything else besides) up for grabs on the sidewalk. So make a list of what you’re looking for… check it twice… and get ready for the treasure hunt!

A little crevice between his body and tail holds bamboo-stick incense, making it look like he’s curling his body/tail around it! He’ll be mounted on a stone base to give him a bit more stability. I briefly considered making him fit coreless (japanese style) incense, but you definitely don’t want the burning part to get too close to the body (which is sculpted out of epoxy clay).
