Just a reminder that this horrible tragedy in Duxbury (my home town) has multiple victims. Three beautiful babies were lost… Patrick suffered that heartbreak and the trauma of the aftermath… and Lindsay, most of all, has had to suffer the loss of the babies she loved so much, her own physical suffering, and immeasurable guilt.

There is no doubt how much Lindsay loved her babies. You can see how she begged and pleaded for help. Listening to all the mother’s guilt in her journal is evidence of just how much she was suffering and blaming herself. These are the kinds of intrusive, self-critical statements I hear from clients all too often. Mothers do not need to be perfect. Mothers need support.

So many warning signs were ignored by Lindsay’s providers. There were classic signs of mania and bipolar. When multiple medications don’t work and an SSRI sends a client into mania or causes severe insomnia… we know that a client should be screened for bipolar. Bipolar can cause psychosis during severe depression or mania.

Lindsay was voluntarily hospitalizing herself and disclosing the thoughts of hurting herself and her children. Lindsay presented with significant mania after the birth of her second child. You can hear the intrusive thoughts in her journal also. But the system is broken. It is unclear if Lindsay had a therapist who would have seen the whole picture. She tried with multiple psychiatrists but they may not have seen her long enough to recognize the patterns. The hospitals should have diagnosed her correctly, and they didn’t. Who knows if insurance was pressuring them to discharge, as they so often do.

But the reality is, postpartum mothers don’t belong in psych wards. They do not present the same as other severely ill patients. There need to be hospitals and partial programs for perinatal and postpartum moms where they can still visit with their babies and bond while they recover in a healthy way. Our healthcare system needs to support women and mothers so much more than it currently does.

So many women I work with aren’t just “stressed”…

They’re carrying years of unprocessed experiences
on top of the constant pressure of everyday life.

And at a certain point, your body starts to hold onto it.

It shows up as anxiety, overwhelm, emotional reactivity, exhaustion…
or just that quiet feeling that something still isn’t right.

This isn’t because you’re doing something wrong.
It’s because your brain never got the chance to fully process what you went through.

That’s where Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) comes in.

This is the work I specialize in—helping women gently and safely reprocess trauma so it no longer feels triggering or overwhelming.

Not just talking about it…
but actually helping your brain resolve it.

I’ve seen women shift in ways they didn’t think were possible—
often in just a few sessions.

You can feel calm again.
You can feel like yourself again.

If you’re in Massachusetts and this resonates, I’m here 🤍

Are you a woman carrying anxiety that feels deeper than everyday stress - anxiety shaped by trauma or the collective instability so many of us are living through right now?

Panic attacks, health anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, ADHD symptoms & postpartum worry are often complicated by unresolved stress stored in the nervous system. You may have tried talk therapy before & gained insight, yet still feel like you’re not getting to the root. That’s because understanding a story isn’t the same as resolving it.

As a trauma-informed therapist & Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) specialist, I help women process and clear stress & pain. We heal anxiety, blending CBT & ART for deep nervous system repair. ART uses the best of EMDR to heal stress faster than traditional talk therapy. I’m also trained in integrative wellness coaching. My holistic approach addresses mental health and how the mind, body & lifestyle intersect - helping women to create more balanced & peaceful lives.

The absolute best part of my job is the impact I can make. There are so many victories to celebrate. People get better. They learn how strong they are and they fight for what they want. People heal, situations change, thoughts improve, families stabilize and I get to witness that whole process. There is nothing better than helping people improve their lives.
