Celtics Movement

SB Nation has the Celtics sitting at No. 1 in its latest Eastern Conference rankings.

1. Celtics
2. Knicks
3. Cavaliers
4. Magic
5. Raptors

Boston enters the season with plenty to prove, but they’re still getting respect at the top of the East.

Brian Windhorst believes the Celtics could surprise people this season:

"I believe the Celtics will have a good year... I just think Joe Mazzulla is going to be obsessed and the team is going to be obsessed with proving everybody wrong... I would not be surprised if the Celtics end up with a top 5 or 6 record this season."

Boston isn’t being counted out just yet.

Jaylen Brown says he and Jayson Tatum haven’t really spoken since the trade:

“Not really”

“We won a championship together... Obviously there's ups and downs in any type of relationship. On my end, it's nothing but respect.”

“Besides when he plays the Sixers, I hope he does well.” 😅

Still respect between the former Celtics teammates despite how it ended.

Jaylen Brown opens up on what bothered him most about how things ended with the Celtics:

“The whole process. To be honest I'm moving on. Maybe one day you share the details of kind of how everything transpired. I feel no need to chime in on it because I'm focused on what's in front of me”

Brown is leaving the past behind and focusing on his next chapter. 👀

Ron Harper Jr. reveals he and Paul George negotiated a deal for the No. 13 jersey after George arrived in Boston. 😂

“About an hour after the trade, I got a phone call saying he wanted the number, so me and him were able to work it out ... I'm happy that he's able to get back to PG13.”

“My first negotiation.” 😂

Jaylen Brown says being traded by the Celtics only added more fuel to the fire. 👀🔥

Boston moved on from Brown after everything he accomplished there — and now he’s using it as motivation for the next chapter.

Kendrick Perkins on the potential fallout from Boston trading Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia:

“If the 76ers go on to win the NBA championship with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, it will stain the Boston Celtics forever.”

That trade could haunt Boston for a long time. 👀

Chris Canty on the Celtics trading Jaylen Brown:

“To let the tension lead to this is an absolute failure and franchise malpractice.”

Canty didn’t hold back on Boston. 😳

A look back at one of Jayson Tatum's standout moments from last season. 💚🔥

There have been a lot of rumors and discussions lately about Stephen Curry potentially joining the Boston Celtics. 👀

Would you like to see Curry in a Celtics jersey, or do you think Boston should pass?
