From September 25-28, GoodVision USA's Executive Director Matt Gianino and Board President Blair Wong, the 2025 International Optician of the Year, are at SILMO alongside our colleagues from GoodVision France at booth . Stop by to learn about the GoodVision Alliance, our program built for opticians and eyewear manufacturers who believe this industry can create a lasting, positive impact far beyond its borders. You'll also get to see a live demonstration of the GoodVision bending machine, the smallest eyewear factory in the world.

Today, those two things are in the same auction.

23 pairs of 2026 NOW Award-nominated frames and two accessories are now live at https://goodvision.betterworld.org/auctions/now-goodvision. All proceeds support GoodVision's work. Bidding runs through October 14 and is open to everyone.

Good eye care shouldn't depend on how close you live to a specialist. That's the idea behind telerefraction, a new way GoodVision is closing the distance between rural patients and the eye care experts they need.

Here's how it works: our field teams carry out vision tests and basic exams on-site, capturing everything in the GoodVision App. Then, an optometrist reviews the results remotely and video calls in to support complex cases in real time, no long journeys, no missed care.

The result? Shorter travel distances, lower costs, and more reliable outcomes, even in the most remote communities. And because one specialist can now support multiple clinics at once, this technology helps us reach further with the same resources.

We're rolling out telerefraction step by step across all our program countries. This is what the future of accessible eye care looks like.

We stand in solidarity with our colleagues in Nepal and Colombia.

Both countries have been severely affected by natural disasters in recent days. People have lost their homes, major transportation routes have been cut off, and entire regions are facing enormous challenges.

Our colleagues and partners are on the ground. They are experiencing first-hand what this situation means for the people, their communities, and their own families. Our work has also been affected: some roads are impassable, planned operations must be postponed, and much of what seemed certain just a few days ago is suddenly uncertain.

The most important thing for us right now is the safety of our teams and partners. At the same time, our solidarity goes out to all those affected by these events.

GoodVision is not a disaster relief organization. To provide immediate assistance to those affected, organizations that specialize in emergency aid and can provide quick and targeted help are needed now.

Our work is focused on the long term. In Nepal and Colombia, we are working together with local teams and partners to create sustainable access to good vision. We will continue this work even after the acute crisis has passed.

After all, reliable local structures are especially important in the wake of severe crises. Good vision creates opportunities: it facilitates education and employment, enables greater participation in society, and helps prevent accidents. In this way, it supports people in shaping their daily lives on their own terms.

Today, our special solidarity goes out to our colleagues, partners, and the people of Nepal and Colombia. Our thoughts are with you.
