Do you ever replay a conversation in your mind for hours or even days after it happened?
I have. 🙋‍♀️ Sometimes our minds just keep going…
Why did I say that? What did they mean by that? I should have said something different.
Having a mindfulness practice doesn’t mean we never get caught up in our thoughts. It simply means that when we notice we can gently choose what to focus our attention on.
No need to be harsh with ourselves or make thoughts disappear.
Just notice and kindly choose what to focus on, perhaps its a task on hand, the breath or sounds?

The ego isn't inherently bad. It often develops to protect us.
When we have a consistent mindfulness practice, it helps us recognize when the ego is reacting from fear outside of practice.
By meeting those moments with curiosity rather than judgment, we create space to respond with greater awareness, compassion, and choice.
Thank you Jason Tracey for the podcast opportunity.

We often see the world in black and white, right or wrong, success or failure, good or bad. While this way of thinking can feel certain, it rarely reflects the complexity of real life.
When we move beyond either/or thinking, we create space for wiser decisions, deeper relationships, and greater emotional well-being.
Having a consistent mindfulness practice helps us notice the shades of gray, the places where growth, compassion, and understanding often live.
What is one situation where embracing nuance changed your perspective?
Thank you Jason Tracey for the podcast opportunity.

Some days, the weight of the world's suffering can feel overwhelming.
Compassion doesn't stop at borders. Our shared humanity invites us to care for people we may never meet while also tending to our own well-being. Self-compassion isn't turning away from suffering, it helps us remain present without becoming consumed by it.
May we choose kindness, wisdom, and compassion today, wherever we are.

Find More Calm and Clarity This Fall
As life begins to slow down, fall offers an opportunity to pause, rest, reflect, and renew.
If you're looking for practical ways to manage stress and support your well-being, discover how mindfulness can help regulate your nervous system and cultivate greater resilience.
Join us online on Wednesday, Sept 16 at 6:30 p.m. for a complimentary Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Orientation.
You'll learn about the upcoming 8-week MBSR program, a trauma-sensitive course based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's pioneering work in mindfulness and supported by decades of neuroscience research.

One of the most valuable leadership skills I ever learned was becoming less emotionally reactive.
There was a time when difficult conversations with my boss could affect my entire day.
I'd replay every conversation in my mind and even dread meeting with him because we had fallen into a pattern of reacting to one another. I didn't know how to break the cycle.
Then mindfulness changed everything.
With a consistent mindfulness practice, I learned to pause and notice the sensations of frustration and irritation in my body before automatically reacting.
In that pause, I realized I had a choice.
Instead of reacting from habit, I could respond with greater awareness and intention. Over time, the cycle between us changed, our relationship improved, and work became far less stressful.
That simple pause was incredibly freeing.
Have you ever noticed how one conversation can stay with you all day?
Thank you, Jason Tracey, for the opportunity to share a small part of my story. I hope it encourages others to discover the freedom that can come from responding instead of reacting.

Have you ever noticed that the more you push something away, the stronger it seems to become?
Resistance is a natural part of growth, yet mindfulness can help us relate to it with greater curiosity and kindness.

How often do we hold ourselves back, not because we lack ability, but because we doubt our worthiness to fully step into who we are?
Many of us have been conditioned to focus on our shortcomings, imperfections, and fears. Yet sometimes the greater challenge is allowing ourselves to recognize our strengths, gifts, and potential without shrinking to make others comfortable.
This powerful reflection invites us to consider what becomes possible when we stop playing small and begin trusting the light within us.
Take a moment to read these words slowly and notice what resonates for you.
With love and light,
