We’re excited to introduce an amazing individual take a moment to meet Mr. Terrence Walker and hear his WHY! 👏🏽🌹

I became a mentor because I know how it feels growing up trying to figure life out on your own. I’ve been through things, made mistakes, learned from them, and I feel like I can use those experiences to help the younger generation.

One thing about me is I really enjoy working with kids. Whether it’s through fitness, talking to them, joking around with them, or just listening, I feel like I’m able to connect with them and meet them where they’re at.

I believe every kid has something special in them. Sometimes they just need somebody in their corner to bring it out of them. Somebody that believes in them, keeps it real with them, and holds them accountable at the same time.

I especially want to help the kids that might feel overlooked or like nobody understands them. Just because you made mistakes or had a rough start doesn’t mean that’s how your story has to end.

I don’t have all the answers and I’m not trying to act like I do. I just want to use what I know, what I’ve been through, and the skills God gave me to make a difference.

I want to be that positive person in a young person’s life that I would’ve wanted in my corner growing up.

My name is Burgundie McLaurin. I am originally from Laurel, MS, currently live in Bryan, TX, and work as a project specialist at a biotech company in College Station. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and practicing self-care.

I chose to become a mentor because, growing up in a small town, my aspirations were initially limited. Thanks to the support of my parents and mentors, I was introduced to STEM programs and ultimately attended college. Through this program, I hope to inspire and motivate my mentees to think outside the box and pursue their full potential.

Hello my name is Ylonda Wiggins and I am a mother of 2 young ladies 2 son in laws and 6 remarkable, loving, caring GRANDCHILDREN. My favorite color is purple let my granddaughter tell it it’s pink (her favorite color)lol.

I enjoy listening to music, eating new foods, crafting, listening to my grandchildren agrue and fuss what a kick it is. Those children bring so much life to me because as an adult you can get in a dark place like struggling with Diabetes and High Blood Pressure, if it wasn’t for them I would not have any inspiration.

I was so excited when I seen my niece post about Rose in a Conceete my mother in law R.I.P was a phenomenal woman never turned away anyone would give her last to anyone. So I knew this organization was for me I love what it stands for and the mission we are serving. I pray I can impact every young person I come in contact with thank you for this opportunity.
