Yesterday, something I ordered and was looking forward to was stolen after delivery.

It hurt emotionally but it wasn’t really about the thing. It was the violation. Someone crossed into my space and took something that was mine, and suddenly I was in that survivor space where choice and agency get ripped away.

It made me think about Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which feels silly until you remember the bike wasn’t just a bike. It was joy and freedom and imagination.

If something "small" hits you big, you’re not being dramatic. That is a trigger, and it matters. You matter.

I've been listening to Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs with my morning coffee. Richard Butler wrote it in support of LGBTQ+ fans. "They'd put us on a railroad. They'd dearly make us pay for laughing in their faces and making it our way."

That isn't a love song, it's a declaration of independence in the face of deadly hate. There are people who want to tell you how to dress, who to love, how to worship, how to act, what dreams are acceptable, and what parts of yourself need to be hidden.

Love your way even if they want to silence us by any means they deem necessary.

Stay totally awesome!

Stay true to you!

Quick shout out and more to come on it. This week's episode of Likewhateverpod is about Found Family, my favorite topic. In it the focus is LGBTQIA+ kids, how PFLAG came to be and the space that Goth culture offered and offers! I still got more episode to hear but I have to get to the gym and then work.
