thank you David Trowbridge

thank you.

Some photos I made in New Orleans

porchlite: the final show (for a while) wednesday, august 19th, brought to you by rain booking atlanta at Lost Signal featuring Pookeepsie Dames and a secret set! doors: 7 show: 7:30, respect the space and don’t park like an idiot!

“we all just graduated and are all going to different colleges across ga... except isaiah. he’s moving all the way to new york to pursue his dream of photography/ photojournalism. we are so sad to see him go, but also really excited for him, and can’t wait to see what he gets up to. as for the rest of us, we’re going to stick together, and eventually find a new drummer, but definitely take a break. we’ll be back eventually (probably next year) but this is going to be the last porchlite show on the books for the foreseeable future! come hang out, have fun, and help us celebrate our drummer isaiah and the music we’ve all made together! we’re gonna miss you!”

“Groovy.”
We are so proud to present to you all: “Evil Dead”, a homage to Sam Raimi and Bruce Cambell’s classic 80’s comedy-horror franchise, The Evil Dead. The lyrics are full of references to the movies, even the Kandarian chants used to summon the demons, (so each time we play this song we summon at least 3 demons?!)

But good luck understanding the lyrics, this is our heaviest song yet, and features screaming more than singing. I’m pretty sure this classifies as a metalcore song, and features pretty much the first actual porchlite breakdown. We aren’t becoming a metalcore band though, we’re working on new music with the porchlite sound you guys are used to (except better).

Evil Dead is completely self-produced by Lane with some help from fellow kamino studios employee and bandmate Gavin.

And thank you to nick żaczek for taking the cover photo, some of the others that didn’t make the cut are in this post too.

We hope you enjoy! If this song summons any demons who possess your friends, the only way to get rid of them is through the act of bodily dismemberment!
