Honoring Milo & Malorie | Raising childhood cancer awareness | Supporting grieving families | Events benefiting DCH Once again, we were facing the unimaginable.
Our sweet Milo was just four months old when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor (MRT), a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Though his time with us was short, his impact was immeasurable. Milo carried a light within him—he radiated hope, peace, and a strength beyond his years. He bravely faced three full rounds of chemotherapy, smiling through the highs and the lows, teaching us what true courage looks like. As hard as he fought, the tumor eventually became resistant to treatment and the cancer spread. On September 23, 2021, Milo gained his angel wings. Since then, our hearts have been broken, but we’ve also been filled with a new purpose: to raise awareness and walk alongside other families facing childhood cancer, just as we did. Not long after Milo passed, we found out we were expecting our fourth child. While she was still in the womb, doctors discovered a tumor in her brain. On September 20, 2022, our precious Malorie came into the world. Malorie spent four beautiful weeks with us. In that short time, she reminded us to slow down, to savor every heartbeat, every breath, every moment. She showed us the power of living with intention and grace. On October 18, 2022, she too gained her wings. Losing two of our children has changed us forever. The grief is something we carry every day but so is the love, the joy, and the lessons they left behind. Through it all, we’ve learned that even in the deepest sorrow, there is still room for hope, for light, and for healing. Our story is one of heartbreak, but also of resilience, purpose, and the unshakable belief that beauty will come from the ashes of our lives.

Childhood cancer is complex, and every child and family’s experience is different. The more accurately we understand it, the better we can support families through treatment, survivorship, and grief.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
September 23 is the day Milo was healed of cancer in heaven because of what Jesus did on the cross.
Yes, it is true that children beat cancer. But it is also true that children die because of cancer.
Our experience with childhood cancer is a tender one. We witnessed two babies fight cancer with joy, resilience, strength, and courage.
Many parents carry their children in their hearts and not in their arms because of childhood cancer. Milo’s life reminds us that life does not end here on earth. There is the hope of heaven, through Jesus.
Childhood cancer leaves an impact long after treatment ends, and long after a child is gone. Awareness can look like remembering these children, honoring their lives, and continuing to care for the families who carry their stories forward.
Today, we remember ours.

Today we celebrate our girl, the joy she brought into our lives, and the lesson she taught us—that every heartbeat and every breath is truly a gift from God, especially when you’re living on a prayer.
We miss you here. Our faith gives us hope knowing you are whole and healed in Heaven. You are loved, you are remembered, and your life is woven into the heart of Everglow.
We love you. We miss you. And we’ll celebrate you forever.

We are still so grateful for everyone who helped make the Benefit Show so special. 🎗️
Together, we raised $2,331 for Milo’s Everglow Pediatric Oncology Endowment, helping provide transportation, lodging, and meals for families navigating childhood cancer treatment.
Thank you for showing up, giving generously, and helping us continue this work at Driscoll Children’s Hospital
For Milo. For Malorie. For every family.
We still can’t get over how special the Benefit Show was or how deeply we felt the love and support of our community.
The show may have come to an end, but the love behind it continues.
During the month of September, we will hold a special place for grief and hope, Milo and Malorie, for the childhood cancer community, and the truth that Chris and Mia sang so passionately: with Jesus, we have the victory, no matter the outcome.🎗️

Milo left me hanging to go hang out with Jesus in heaven, and Malorie taught me to treasure every breath we get to breathe. Life has been a mix of music, motherhood, lessons, and a whole lot of laughing at myself and others because humor really is medicine.
I’m so excited to be part of bringing these songs to life, and I can’t wait for you to hear them live tomorrow! (9.4.26 @ 7PM)
