Did you know one of the main parts of my business is helping equestrians recover from horse related accidents?
Assisting them with feeling safe in their own body again, building confidence and connection with a horse, and working towards that first ride back?

I got into that work because of a horse related accident I experienced in 2017 and recovered from. Now it’s 2026 and I have experienced another large horse related accident. And what a blessing that is. My physical recovery is going well and my mental recovery is going even better. Because this is what I do….and now I get to do it again, even better this time around and share the journey with everyone.

Everyday I choose the horses. Everyday I find a way to get to them. Find a way to connect to them. Here are a few of my favorite ways I’m showing up with my horses as I recover to reintroduce safety in my body around horses following my accident:

1. Place a chair in their pen and free stream write. Whatever comes to mind I just let it flow.

2. Place a chair in their pen and read my favorite book. I already love reading this book and I get to experience that in my horse’s “living room”.

3. Grooming my horses. This is a very natural way to regulate their nervous system and mine while we connect through safe touch.

4. Simply being with them, allowing them to be curious about my walker, come up to me and sniff, these things encourage understanding. Almost all of my horses come up to me individually and sniff my injured leg and then come to my chest. This is a natural energy exchange.

5. Talking to them, telling them how I’m doing, how I’m feeling, how much I miss them, how I long to ride again, how much I appreciate them and so on.

6. Engaging in “normal” daily life activities with them even though it may look different. Such as leading one of the horses, filling a water tank, opening a gate, being around for feeding or mucking time even though I can’t participate. I know my presence matters to them. It’s what they are used to and what I am used to. So getting back to that routine to the best of my ability is important! ❤️

Hoping to help my barn volunteers out a bit!

I’m so grateful for everyone coming over and stepping up to help feed and muck. However, I would love to try to streamline the process a bit for all my amazing volunteers!

So, does anyone have any round or square grass hay they would be willing to sell?

I currently feed mostly alfalfa which means strategic feeding for each pen of horses. My hope is for the next 1-2 months, while I heal, I can set some grass bales out under nets and let everyone free feed. That way my volunteers only have to worry about mucking and waters versus hand feeding ten head.

I know it’s a tough year but figured I would ask around! 🥰

I cannot put into words how grateful I am for each and every one of you who have reached out, stepped up, stepped in, and helped out.

Because of this incredible community my horses are taken care of, the barn is taken care of, and I am so beyond grateful.

Thank you to everyone who is helping out. My crew of critters and I appreciate you so much!

I’m healing more everyday but have a long road ahead. Thank you for filling the gaps ❤️

Body Work is Back!! Just in time to celebrate end of summer and show season!
Reward your horse for all the hard work they have put in this summer.

Sterling will be back at the barn September 10th-13th. This is a great opportunity to get your horse worked on. The method Sterling uses is only practiced by 4 other people in the nation, we are incredibly lucky to have him here.

Cost:$100 (Cash) or $150 (Check/Venmo)
Time: 45 minutes per horse

What to expect: Your horse will be evaluated from head to toe and a combination of nerve releases, muscle manipulation, and other adjustments will be done.
Pinched nerves can impact the entire body. For example: There is a nerve behind the ears that directly corresponds with hock movement. You can end up with short strided horses in the hind end due to a nerve impingement.

Many issues we come across with our horses such as sore backs, lead problems, head tossing, issues taking a bit, etc. can stem from nerve impingement.

Please call or text: 307-262-2743 to reserve your spot today.

This is for anyone going through loss…
Losing these two souls less than 4 months apart in the last year did a number on my heart.

Jazzy was my first horse. My why. My reason behind all that I do. All I have built. She carried me through unfathomable darkness. She showed me why I needed to create opportunity for others to heal alongside horses. She picked up my broken body, my broken heart, and my broken mind. She smoothed out the edges, filled me with light, love, and grace, and gave me the confidence to keep trying. She is wrapped in all I do. I know the gift of being picked up off of the floor of life’s darkest moments by a horse and I’m so glad I can share that gift with others now.

Then there is Rae. My personal Rae of Sunshine. My biggest protector. She was placed on this earth and in my life to protect the mind, soul, and body Jazzy had so delicately mended back together. She had my back, protected me at any cost, and was the most loyal soul I believe I will ever meet. She was mine and I was hers and everything else just faded away.

Then, these two left this earth. Their bodies returned to me in ash. Their spirits still whispering around the barn and my home. The grief of their passing is complex because there are so many things that are true all at once.
They both knew they had completed their mission in their earthly bodies and could better serve in the spiritual realm.

What an honor it is to know I had healed and grown enough for them to confidently let go. What a privilege it is to smile through a tear soaked face at the thought of all that these two did for me and in turn for all of my clients.

Grief can be complex. It can be messy. But what a beautiful expression of love. And isn’t that what it’s all about? ❤️

If you are struggling with grief, please reach out. The wonderful souls at the barn and I would love to support you in your time of sorrow and need.
