I was finally able to do one of MiMi that I am satisfied with:

"MiMi"
Acrylic, on canvas board.
8" x 10"

This painting of fellow artist, Jessamyn Smith, was inspired by the Paint Your Person! at the Urbana Free Library on Monday, in which you went with a friend, and painted portraits of each other. It was a really nice event. Our libraries, and recreation centres offer many free art and craft workshops. If they have it again, consider registering for it.

(It could have used a little more shadowing, but we were limited on time)

Opinions, please !

As much as I like my portrait of Jinx, I was thinking about altering it because I would like it to look a little more like her. What are your opinions if I were to change it to be more like this ?

The first picture is the original portrait, the second and third the alterations that I am considering, and the fourth is the photo reference used to paint the portrait.

It has been a long while since I have done a portrait of Jinx, and this is the first impressionistic one.

This is another that I had done of Jetty some time ago. I did not post it at that time, because I was going to add to it. But then I decided against it because I did not want to mess it up.
I think it captures his [faux] intensity.
I am considering having prints made, and hand-colouring them, however

And, no, his ears are not exaggerated ! 😀

A picture of my Cornish Rex, Jetty, copied from my sketchbook, to sketchbook on my phone, and then coloured in by that method

Sad kitten painted today.

If you were at The Rose Bowl Tavern's 2nd Bingo night on Tuesday, you would have had a chance to take home a set of my floral cards (a $20 value) home as a prize.

(Someone did, so if they see this, please comment)
