SCDNR seeks public input on future management of Ashley River The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is asking Lowcountry residents to weigh in on the future management of the Ashley River.

Today we recommit ourselves to remembrance of loss, sacrifice & service, & to do all we can to prevent a repeat. I remember well the national unity that followed that horrific day. I pray we can recapture that unity without ever enduring such trauma again.

Happy Labor Day to all you hard working folks out there! Thanks for all you do every day to keep South Carolina and America moving!

Proud to announced I have secured state funding toward partnerships with: 1. the City of Charleston to improve drainage and flooding in West Ashley, safety along the West Ashley Greenway, and 2. with Charleston County (assist from Rep. Wetmore) to improve road and pedestrian safety around St John’s High School on Johns Island.

I will never stop fighting to bring your tax dollars back home to improve our quality of life here in Charleston.

The next quarterly project update for the ongoing U.S. 17 and Main Road project will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, at St. Johns High School, located at 1518 Main Road.

During the meeting, the project team will provide updates on milestones achieved, work underway, and next steps. Following their presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to speak directly with the project team.

Funded by the 2016 Transportation Sales Tax, the U.S. 17 and Main Road improvements will reduce congestion at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Main Road, increase capacity along Main Road from Bees Ferry Road to River and Chisolm Roads, provide safe bicycle and pedestrian access across the Stono River, and improve stormwater drainage throughout the project area.
