Join us in worship, share Christ’s love, and give generously to the World Communion Offering. Together, let’s put faith into action by extending kindness, pursuing justice, and supporting God’s work around the world.

As we celebrate World Communion Sunday on October 4, we invite our church family to extend Christ’s love beyond our own table. Please bring non-perishable food items to support The Salvation Army’s Extended Table ministry.

Together, we can help nourish our neighbors, care for those in need, and share God’s love in a tangible way. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

Remembering September 11: A Prayer for Peace and Healing

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we take time to remember that tragic day. We remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news about the airplanes crashing into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the heroic actions on board Flight 93. We take time on this anniversary to remember those victims who lost their lives, their grieving families, the first responders and volunteers who risked their lives helping others, and all the people who served in the cleanup afterwards. I offer this prayer for today.

Our Prayer:

Most Holy God, as we think back to the tragic day 25 years ago, we remember all those innocent people who lost their lives, who never came home from work that day, and whose families were changed forever. We pray for your comfort upon the families as they continue to mourn. We also pray for the first responders and volunteers, thankful for their bravery as they rushed to help others, some at the cost of their lives. We give thanks to everyone who worked or volunteered in the aftermath, praying for those whose health was impacted by their service. May we never forget the loss nor the bravery of everyone who answered the call to service and sacrifice.

God, the attack that day revealed again, as has happened on other infamous days, the broken and violent world we live in and the impact of darkness and sin on our lives. We pray Lord, for your light to shine into the darkness of this world and bring healing, peace, and reconciliation. We pray God that we might live in a world where your kingdom reigns and darkness and sin are dispelled. Send your Holy Spirit upon this world and upon us. Fill us with your love and grace that we might learn to live in harmony with one another. Empower us to be ambassadors of the Gospel, sharing your good news of forgiveness and reconciliation. Enable us through the power of your Spirit to live as your holy people.

We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
