What an incredible day serving the Bronzeville community!

This past Friday, QUED-UP was honored to participate in the Bronzeville Youth Innovation + S.T.E.A.M. Fest at the South Side Sanctuary, where we introduced young people to the exciting worlds of Virtual Reality and digital animation.

Over the course of just four hours, we had the privilege of serving more than 40 students, giving them the opportunity to step into immersive digital worlds through our VR headsets and explore how animation and technology can be used to create, innovate, and tell stories. Watching students experience these technologies—many for the very first time—was inspiring and a reminder of why we remain committed to bridging the digital divide.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Cecilia Cuff, Founder & Developer of The Nascent Group and President of IAYV, for inviting QUED-UP to be part of such an impactful event. Your leadership and dedication to creating opportunities for youth and families continue to make a meaningful difference throughout our communities.

We also want to recognize the incredible work of the South Side Sanctuary. Their mission to empower Bronzeville by promoting creativity, wellness, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity is exactly the kind of community-centered vision that creates lasting change. By providing spaces where young people can learn, create, heal, and connect, they are helping build a stronger, more resilient future for the South Side of Chicago.

A special thank you as well to Aaron Ireland and our partners at LOTUS Chicago for their continued collaboration and commitment to expanding opportunities for youth through technology and education. Partnerships like these allow us to reach more students and inspire the next generation of creators, innovators, and leaders.

Finally, thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, explored virtual reality, created animations, asked questions, and shared your excitement with us. Your curiosity is exactly what fuels our mission.

This morning, a father reached out asking if we still had computers available. The answer was an easy YES!

A short time later, his wife and daughter stopped by QUED-UP to pick up computers for their family.

This couldn't have come at a better time.

Their daughter is starting her freshman year of high school.
Their son is starting his freshman year of college.

These computers will help both students complete assignments, conduct research, build new skills, and pursue their dreams without the barrier of not having the technology they need.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Access to technology isn't a luxury anymore—it's a necessity. Every computer we place into the hands of a student is an investment in their future.
