UnLearning Space NFP
We believe an antiracist process of (un)learning creates space for equitable systems and internal liberation.

One of the most transformational and liberatory practices we know, is dreaming! (Un)Learning Space is designing strategies to support healing and wellness outside the violent lines of oppression. Using the intersection of art, storytelling, and unlearning we invite you to practice your own freedom in community with US!
If you want to learn more about what this might look like for you and your team, let us know! Reach out at [email protected].

What if part of growing up is learning who the world expects us to be?
And what if part of liberation is unlearning it?
Young people remind us that there are ways of being, imagining, questioning, creating, and loving that exist before the world tells us what is “normal,” “successful,” “appropriate,” or even possible.
Maybe our work isn’t only to teach young people how to navigate the world as it is.
Maybe our work is also to listen deeply enough to let them teach us how the world could be.
As this school year begins, may we make room for the wisdom of young people—not only preparing them for who they are becoming, but honoring the fullness of who they already are.
There is so much we can (un)learn together. 💛

From the Founder:
(Un)Learning Space was founded as an organization in opposition to oppression. As we enter our 7th year, my own unlearning (within a beautiful community) has guided (Un)Learning Space to recognize that creating and building anything rooted in the trauma and injustice it seeks to dismantle is not liberation at all. This work has been a divine gift and continues to move me in ways I could have never dreamed. For someone who doesn’t love labor, unlearning this idea of “work”, has been one of the most contradictory (because of capitalism) and amazing unlearning experiences. In essence we’ve been on a journey to answer the question, how do you build a life of play, make transformational impact, heal and remain well and whole while doing it with community?
For years, ohheyronnie and I talked about what it might look like to build a partnership rooted in our own humanity - caring for ourselves and leaning into values that prioritize what matters most—while also truly changing the world. Recently, in New York, we had the opportunity to dream and begin realizing those dreams. The synergy between our desire to create a more expansive world has opened the opportunity for us to impact the creative and advertising industry by exploring connections and intersections that could (will) support an industry where everyone belongs and their voice not only matters it is heard. This partnership between (Un)Learning Space and Oh Hey Coach is another beginning, promising much more than we dreamed of and even more than we could have imagined. I’m so grateful to continue this journey with Ronnie and I’m grateful for all the partners and community along the way.
(Un)Learning is a movement. It’s an invitation to do life differently. To be different from what oppression has told you and your communities to be. You, yes you are invited to join us. With so much love, we look forward to the next 7 years of transformational impact, wellness, wholeness and community.
You are everything.
With love,
All of US

Personal growth is a beautiful gift.
The journey of personal growth isn’t about inventing a new version of ourselves. It’s about uncovering the truest parts of ourselves that have always been there waiting to be witnessed and waiting to shine without the chains of oppression.

Oppression teaches our bodies and minds to anticipate struggle.
To stay ready. To brace ourselves. To fight, flee, freeze, or numb ourselves to the conditions in which we live and move.
At (Un)Learning Space, we’re curious: What if choosing ease is a liberatory practice?
What would it mean to (un)learn martyrdom, constant urgency, hustle, and the belief that rest can wait until we’re done—or gone?
We believe that practicing ease is not the absence of courage or commitment. It is a way of returning to ourselves. A way of resisting systems that tell us our worth is measured by our exhaustion.
Perhaps ease is one way we move closer to loving ourselves, loving one another, and practicing liberation.

It’s amazing how many people instinctively take off their shoes when they come to an (Un)Learning Space gathering.
This stayed with us, so we did a little research.
Across cultures, removing your shoes carries many meanings—from respect and hospitality to cleanliness and care. But the meaning that resonated most deeply with us was the symbolic act of setting aside one’s earthly burdens.
To us, that’s liberation.
We were completely moved by that. This simple physical act has become a powerful representation of what we hope people experience when they enter our space: the freedom to lay down what they’ve been carrying, to show up fully as themselves, and to begin the work of (un)learning in community.
Sometimes our bodies know we’re safe before our minds do.
We welcome you to lay your burdens aside with us. Come join us. :)

Even when we desire to do and be different, it requires us to think and believe differently. This is where we practice New World Living through unlearning. Joing the unlearning movement.

If we don’t acknowledge the hard parts out loud, we rarely acknowledge that they need to be transformed. Acknowledging our privilege helps us understand the false hierarchy (oppression) that socializes and conditions us and fuels our bias and violently impacts others through decisions, policies, and discourse…We are always grateful to create the conditions to do our inner work in collective and to see what we haven’t seen or what try not to see. parts
