We are thrilled to share our 7th participant spotlight from the 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp in Hainan! Meet Leon Roudenko (Incoming 8th Grader, Reston, Virginia)!

Here is what Leon had to say about his amazing experience:

"The Math Kangaroo Asia Math Camp in Boao, Hainan Island was an exciting, fun, and amazing experience! I was super happy to carry the flag for the US team at the opening ceremony. It was really an honor to represent our great team at the start of the camp.

My personal favorite was the team round where the entire team was working together to solve challenging math problems. I also enjoyed the guts round, where the scores were shown on the board. Besides problem-solving, there were plenty of fun activities like the math carnival... On one of the nights, we had a drone show with math symbols, kangaroos, and other cool things!

My favorite part of the entire camp was meeting new people and friends from all over the world! The Math Kangaroo Asia Math Camp has taught me new strategies and thinking differently, but more so to become good friends with so many people from different cultures! This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget!"

🌟 Spotlight: 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp Reflections 🌟

We are excited to share another inspiring reflection from the 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp! Meet Kiash Choudhury (Incoming 7th Grader, Westborough, Massachusetts), representing Team USA on the international stage!

Here is what Kiash shared about his unforgettable experience:

"Participating in the 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Championship was an incredible and unforgettable experience! While representing Team USA on the international stage alongside more than 1,000 talented campers from around the world, I felt incredibly proud and inspired.

Every competition was challenging, but also very fun. My favorite competition was the Guts Round, where my team and I answered questions at a fast pace while competing directly against all the other teams in the room. The real time scoreboard kept the pressure on, and that made getting each question correct even more intense!

I also enjoyed the interactive Math Workshops, Math Bazaar, and Math Carnival. In the carnival, we got to explore math through games like Sudoku and Rubik’s Cubes to earn stamps for prizes like Giant Kangaroos! For the Math Bazaar, our team explained the mathematics behind famous architectures and structures.

For me, the best part of camp was meeting people from all around the world... Although each of us had a different background, we all shared our passion and obsession with math. Looking back, the Math Kangaroo Asia Camp 2026 was a once in a lifetime experience that inspired me, and I hope I will have the chance to participate again next year!"

Here is what Juli had to say about her experience:

"The Math Kangaroo Asia Camp was really fun, featuring challenging competitions, interesting math workshops, and many fun events throughout the week. I met many smart and talented people from all over the world during this camp experience, and made many friends along the way.

I enjoyed all the competitions, but my favorite would probably be the guts round. It was exciting to work as a team to finish each set of problems as quickly and accurately as possible and seeing the live scores projected at the front. I would definitely recommend this camp to anyone that loves Math Kangaroo! I had so much fun working with my team and making new friends, I hope to come again in the future!"

🌟 Spotlight: 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp Reflections 🌟

We are excited to share our 4th student reflection from the Math Kangaroo Asia Camp in Hainan, China! Meet Andrew Xu (8th Grade, Iowa City, Iowa)!

Here is what Andrew had to share about his journey:

"I feel that the Math Kangaroo competition in Hainan, China, was a great opportunity to learn more about math and enjoy the experience.

I found all the events were engaging and interesting. The individual round and the team round were similar to other math competitions; there was a time limit and a set of problems you had to solve. The Crossnumber and Guts rounds were very interesting and exciting. The Crossnumber round required not only mathematical skills but also logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities... The Guts round focused more on speed and accuracy. It was memorable because it was like no other math competition.

Apart from the competitions, there were other fun activities. For example, the Math Carnival was a fun activity where students walked from table to table doing small activities. Some of the activities were cultural games related to one of the eight countries participating... Other activities were math-based games like Sudoku.

The hotel where I stayed with my family during the competition was also a memorable experience. It had a big swimming pool outside [and] a wonderful view of the sea.

In conclusion, I think the Math Kangaroo Asia Competition was a memorable experience for me. The exciting competitions, enjoyable activities, and comfortable accommodations all contributed to a wonderful experience. I would gladly return to the Math Kangaroo Asia Camp in the future if I were given the opportunity."

🌟 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp Reflections — Spotlight #3!
We are thrilled to share another reflection from our 2026 Math Kangaroo Asia Camp! Meet Noah Liu (Rising 8th Grader, Colorado), the 3rd of our 16 talented participants to be featured this season.

Here is what Noah had to say about his summer experience:

"The Math Kangaroo Math Camp was one of the most fun camps I have ever attended. Each day was packed with new adventures, including both math and other activities. Every morning, I woke up excited for the new math activity planned for the day. My favorite round was definitely the Guts round because it gave instant feedback on the screen, so you could see your placement right away. It was also fast-paced and required the most strategy because you didn’t want to run out of time on the last sets, but you also didn’t want to make mistakes by rushing. I worked really well with my team, earning us several first places. We also won overall first place, which combined all the contests we did.

Aside from math activities, I made many new friends from different countries who are as passionate about math as I am. We also watched movies, played cards for hours, and splashed around in the swimming pool. The camp also had a gala party, where I spent the time playing truth or dare with my friends.

Overall, this camp was an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you to the Math Kangaroo Math Camp for creating such a fun and memorable summer."

We are thrilled to spotlight another incredible participant from the 2026 Int'l Math Kangaroo Camp in Zakopane, Poland - Arda Eroz (Rising 11th grade, Rockville, MD)! 🌟

Here is what Arda had to share about his experience:

"My time at the International Math Kangaroo Camp in Zakopane, Poland, was an experience I will remember for a long time. I loved the combination of challenging mathematics, exploring Poland, and getting to know students from around the world.

The daily lectures, which covered topics ranging from polygon arrangements to ellipses and cycloids, taught me that mathematics can be approached in many different ways. I especially enjoyed seeing how ideas that seemed unrelated at first could lead to interesting solutions. With our goal of submitting the most creative solution for the Problem of the Day competition, hearing different inputs from team members, each with their own perspective on the problem, allowed for a diverse range of solutions.

Beyond mathematics, the camp gave me the opportunity to meet students from countries all around the world and learn about their different experiences and cultures. At the same time, exploring Poland through hikes, our visit to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and our trip to Kraków gave me a chance to experience Polish culture and see places I had never been before.

Some of my favorite memories, though, came from spending time with the USA team, like the nights when we stayed up together practicing for the talent show. Those nights, along with playing games, talking, and spending time with students from other countries, made the camp feel much more like a community.

I am very grateful to Math Kangaroo for giving me the opportunity to be part of this experience. I came home with a lot of memories that I know I will look back on for years to come."

Unforgettable memories from the 2026 International Math Kangaroo Camp in Zakopane, Poland! 🇵🇱📐

From taking the cable car down Gubałówka and making a splash at the aqua park to diving into complex "Problems of the Day," this trip was one for the books. Here is what rising 11th grader Anshul Arul (Redmond, WA) had to share about his experience:

💬 "The math in the camp was great. I loved collaborating with Team USA... The paper folding lecture was my favorite—it was fascinating how you could construct things impossible with a compass and ruler! The best part of the camp was the awesome people I got to meet... A special thanks to my roommate Anish, and friends Alex, Chris, and Zack, and a huge thank you to our chaperones, Arpit and Kieran."

Shoutout to Anshul and all the incredible students from Team USA, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland who made this camp so special! 🌲✨
