The yod י is the smallest letter in the Alef Beis and ultimately the most powerful.

Gematria: 10

Yod is the spark from the divine... the primordial point. It is the tiny seed from which all creation unfolds.

It is the first letter of יהוה and the metaphorical hand of G-d reaching toward this Earth.

Every single Hebrew letter is built from the letter Yod. The ten Sefirot is contained within this single humble point. The infinite concentrates itself into the smallest possible form so that worlds can exist. Sometimes, the most profound lives within the smallest gestures, the willingness to become small enough to receive what is greater than the world we experience.

I drew this as a reminder that even when everything feels reduced to a single tiny point... that point still holds everything.

Happy Elul. May we all find strength that lives in the smallest places.

I used to be very active in the gallery circuit. So much so that I was invited to speak for a grant via Pecha Kucha (a series of presentations seeking art funding). This was my last foray in the capital A Art World. Why? No, I didn’t get the funding and that’s not the reason. I laughed. Walked off stage and pretended like it didn’t happen. It wasn’t a misfire or a drunken heckler. This was intentional and effective.

No one flinched. No one said anything. Not my friends, colleagues. No one. I just walked away from the scene without a word. This is mob mentality. We should do better. Hopefully, this gentleman has grown to know what’s right and what’s wrong but it’s 2026 and we are still fighting the Long Hatred.
