MEN ARE STRUGGLING TOO. WE JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT IT ENOUGH. ⬇️

There’s a particular kind of pressure that comes with being the person everyone expects to be okay.

You lose your job.

Your business slows down.

Your salary isn't enough anymore.

You have children depending on you.

Bills don't pause.

And somehow, you're still expected to walk around like you've got everything under control.

We have become better at talking about women who are rebuilding their careers, starting over and trying to provide.

We should keep having those conversations.

But there are also men quietly doing the same thing.

The father trying to provide for his children after a divorce.

The man who has worked in one industry for 15 years and suddenly realises his experience isn't enough for the opportunities available today.

The graduate who became a father before he figured out his own career.

The man whose business failed and doesn't know what to do next.

The 40-year-old who knows he needs a new skill but feels embarrassed about starting from zero.

These stories exist.

And sometimes the answer isn't another motivational speech.

Sometimes it's learning something that gives you another option.

A skill you can use to change careers.

A skill you can use to work remotely.

A skill you can build into a side income.

A skill that gives you something to fall back on when Plan A stops working.

That's why learning shouldn't only happen when you're desperate.

Build something while things are still okay.

Because the goal isn't to wait until life forces you to start again.

The goal is to have enough skills and options that when life changes, you can change with it.

And to the men quietly trying to figure things out:

You don't have to have everything figured out.

You just need to keep building.

What is one pressure you think men are expected to handle silently?

Let's actually have this conversation.

HOW TO GET AN NGO JOB IN NIGERIA — EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START ⬇️

A lot of people want to work with NGOs, but they make one mistake:

They search “NGO jobs” on WhatsApp and wait for someone to forward an opportunity.

That’s not a job-search strategy.

If you’re serious about getting an NGO job, start here:

1. Know the roles you qualify for.

NGOs don't only hire Programme Officers.

They hire Administrative Assistants, Project Assistants, Communications Officers, Finance Officers, Data Analysts, M&E Officers, HR staff, Drivers, Community Officers, Interns and more.

2. Search on the right platforms.

Check NGO and humanitarian job boards, LinkedIn, MyJobMag, Jobberman, ReliefWeb and the career pages of organisations you want to work with.

3. Don't send the same CV everywhere.

Read the job description.

Look at the skills they requested.

Then make sure your CV clearly shows the experience and skills relevant to that particular role.

4. Build relevant experience.

If you have never worked with an NGO before, volunteering, internships, community projects and relevant work experience can help you build evidence of your ability.

5. Verify every vacancy.

If you see an NGO vacancy on WhatsApp, Facebook or Telegram, don't immediately send your documents.

Find the organisation's official website and verify the vacancy there.

And please, never pay someone to “secure” an NGO job for you.

Legitimate recruitment processes should not require you to pay an application or recruitment fee.

The truth is, getting an NGO job is not just about knowing where vacancies are.

You need the right skills, a relevant CV, evidence of experience and a consistent application strategy.

Stop waiting for someone to forward you a job.

Start searching intentionally.

Save this post and send it to someone trying to get into the NGO sector.

10 FREE CERTIFICATIONS THAT CAN HELP YOU BUILD SKILLS FOR REMOTE WORK. ⬇️

And if I had to start from zero again, #1 is where I’d start.

Because here's what I wish more beginners understood:

You don't need to spend thousands of dollars collecting certificates.

You need to learn something businesses actually need.

Here are 10 places to start:

1. Google Career Certificates
Digital marketing, data analytics, IT support, project management and more.

2. IBM SkillsBuild
Free courses and credentials around technology, AI, data and workplace skills.

3. HubSpot Academy
Great for marketing, sales, CRM, content and customer-facing skills.

4. Microsoft Learn
Build practical skills around Microsoft technologies, data, AI and cloud.

5. Cisco Networking Academy
Courses covering networking, cybersecurity, programming and digital skills.

6. Salesforce Trailhead
Learn Salesforce, CRM and business technology through hands-on learning.

7. freeCodeCamp
A strong starting point for people interested in web development and coding.

8. Canva Design School
Useful for building practical design and visual-content skills.

9. Alison
A large library of free online courses across different career areas.

10. Coursera
Some courses can be accessed through free options or financial aid, depending on the course and current availability.

But here's the part I really want you to remember:

Don't collect 10 certificates.

Pick one skill.

Learn it.

Practice it.

Build projects.

Put those projects in a portfolio.

Then start applying for opportunities where that skill is useful.

Because a certificate can tell someone you completed a course.

Your work shows them what you can actually do.

If you're starting from zero and don't know which digital skill to choose, that's exactly what our Digital Career Accelerator (DCA) is designed to help with.

Our next training starts October 30.

Comment “VIRTUAL” and I'll tell you how to get started.

Don't build a folder full of certificates. Build evidence that you can do the work.

LET’S BE HONEST WITH OURSELVES FOR A SECOND. ⬇️

Nobody is coming to step in and handle your responsibilities for you. No one is going to knock on your door to hand you your dream role, pitch your ideas, or build the future you keep talking about over coffee.

If you’re waiting until you finally feel 100% ready, confident, or rested, you’re going to be waiting forever.

Most people burn through their Mondays in a mental loop—scrolling past other people’s wins, tweaking their to-do lists for the third time, and pretending that planning is the same thing as actually doing the work.

It’s not.

A perfect plan without action is just overthinking in disguise.

If you want your Friday to feel entirely different from last week, here is the raw truth for today:

Momentum doesn't show up first you do.

You don't need to feel inspired to start. You just need to open the laptop, outline the draft, submit the application, or send the email.

The energy follows the effort.

Stop treating simple tasks like giant mountains. The thing you’ve been avoiding all weekend usually takes 15 minutes once you actually sit down and tackle it.

Stop shrinking yourself before you even enter the room. You belong in every conversation, opportunity, and space you are fighting to step into this week.

Your future self is depending on the choices you make today—not the intentions you post about, but the actual work you execute when no one is watching.

Take a deep breath, clear the noise, and get to it.

Happy Monday. Let’s make this week count.

LAST SUNDAY OF SEPTEMBER. 🤍

Maybe this month didn't go exactly how you planned.

Maybe some things worked out.

Maybe some didn't.

Maybe you're still waiting for the answer you've been praying for.

Whatever September looked like for you, don't let what didn't happen make you forget how far you've come.

You made it through another month.

Take a breath.

Be grateful.

And remember:

A slow season is still a season. It doesn't mean your story has stopped.

Happy last Sunday of September. 🤍

SOME PEOPLE ARE WORKING TWICE AS HARD BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW THE TOOLS THAT COULD DO HALF THE WORK. ⬇️

Think about how much time gets wasted doing things manually.

Writing the same type of email again and again.

Designing every post from scratch.

Copying information between different platforms.

Following up with people one by one.

Organising tasks in random WhatsApp messages.

Creating reports manually every week.

The internet has tools for almost all of these problems.

ChatGPT — research, writing, brainstorming and productivity.

Canva — social media graphics, presentations and visual content.

Notion — organise information, projects, content and workflows.

Google Sheets — track, analyse and manage data.

Trello — manage tasks and projects.

Make, Zapier & n8n — automate repetitive workflows and connect different tools.

But here's the part people get wrong:

Downloading the tools doesn't make you valuable.

Knowing how to use them to solve real problems does.

A business doesn't care that you know ChatGPT.

They care that you can use it to save their team time.

They don't care that you know Canva.

They care that you can create content they actually need.

They don't care that you've watched 50 automation tutorials.

They care that you can automate a process that was wasting them 10 hours every week.

That's the difference between knowing a tool and having a skill.

So stop trying to learn every tool you see online.

Pick a problem.

Learn the tools that solve it.

Practice.

Build something.

And learn how to sell the result—not the tool.

**The future isn't for people who know the most tools.

It's for people who know how to use tools to solve valuable problems.**

8 Freelance Services You Can Sell From Your Phone Today. ⬇️

Your phone is not just for TikTok, WhatsApp and scrolling.

If you’re currently broke, unemployed, a student, or simply looking for a way to start making money online, you can use the phone you already have to start building a sellable skill.

Here are 8 freelance services you can offer:

1. AI Automation Setup 🤖
Set up simple AI-powered workflows that automate repetitive business tasks and help businesses save time.

2. Email Marketing & Newsletter Management 📧
Create, format, schedule and manage newsletters and email campaigns that businesses use to communicate with their audience and generate sales.

3. UGC Content Creation 🎥
Create natural-looking product videos and photos for brands to use in ads and social media — even if you don't have a huge following.

4. Social Media Management 📱
Help businesses manage their Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn pages — creating posts, writing captions, scheduling content and engaging with their audience.

5. Copywriting ✍️
Write captions, product descriptions, emails, ad copy and other content that helps businesses communicate and sell.

6. Notion Workspace Setup 🗂️
Build organized Notion systems for businesses, creators and teams — including dashboards, content calendars, client portals and project trackers.

7. Canva Design 🎨

8. Short-Form Video Editing 🎥
Businesses and creators constantly need Reels, TikToks and Shorts. You can start with tools like CapCut and learn to turn raw clips into engaging videos.

BONUS: AI Chatbot Setup 💬
Set up AI chatbots that can answer customer questions, collect leads and handle routine enquiries automatically.

But here’s where most beginners make a mistake:

They see a list like this and try to learn everything at once.

Don’t.

Pick ONE service.

Learn the basics.
Practice it.
Create 3–5 sample projects.
Put them into a simple portfolio.
Then start reaching out to businesses and potential clients.

And please understand this:

Your phone is not the business.

Your skill is the business.

The phone is simply the tool you can use to learn, practice, build your portfolio and even get your first client.

You may eventually need a laptop for certain services, especially as you grow — but you don't have to wait until your life is perfectly set up before you start.

Start with what you have. Build the skill. Create proof. Then sell the skill.

Which of these services would you actually consider learning? 👇

HOW TO WRITE A CV THAT SURVIVES THE FIRST 6 SECONDS ⬇️

Here's an uncomfortable truth:

A recruiter may spend seconds deciding whether your CV deserves a closer look.

So if the first thing they see is:

“Hardworking and passionate professional seeking an opportunity to utilise my skills…”

You’ve already wasted valuable space.

Your CV isn't supposed to tell your entire life story.

It's supposed to make someone want to keep reading.

Here's what to fix:

1. Stop using the same CV for every job.
If the job is for a Social Media Manager, your CV should immediately show social media experience and relevant results—not bury them halfway down the page.

2. Your opening matters.
Replace vague statements with a clear professional summary that tells them what you do and what you bring.

3. Stop listing duties. Show impact.
Instead of:
“Managed social media accounts.”

Try:
“Managed Instagram and Facebook content, increasing engagement and maintaining a consistent weekly content schedule.”

4. Remove the unnecessary stuff.
Your CV doesn't need your entire biography, every course you've ever taken, or five paragraphs about your personality.

5. Make it easy to scan.
Clear headings. Short bullet points. Consistent formatting. Enough white space.

Because recruiters aren't sitting down with a cup of tea to study your CV. 😂

They're scanning it.

And your job is to make the important information impossible to miss.

Before you send your next application, ask yourself:

“If someone only looked at this CV for six seconds, would they know what I can do?”

If the answer is no…

Your CV isn't ready yet.

PLEASE, I NEED AN ONLINE JOB THAT CAN PAY ME IN DOLLARS.

I get messages like this almost every day.

And honestly?

I understand why.

You see someone in Nigeria working with a company abroad.

Getting paid in dollars.

Working from their laptop.

And you think:

“I want that too.”

But here's the uncomfortable part:

You can't build a career around wanting to be paid in dollars.

You have to build one around being valuable enough to get paid.

Because when an international company sees your application, they're not thinking:

“Hmm… I wonder how badly this person needs a dollar job.”

They're thinking:

“What problem can this person solve for us?”

Can you manage their social media?

Support their customers?

Edit their content?

Analyse their data?

Manage their operations?

Build their website?

Handle their emails?

Automate their repetitive tasks?

That's what gets you considered.

Not “I need a remote job.”

Not “Please, I need to earn in dollars.”

Not even your desperation.

Your ability.

And this is where many people get stuck.

They spend months searching:
• “Remote jobs for Nigerians”
• “Dollar-paying jobs”
• “Work-from-home jobs”
• "Saving opportunities"
• "Sending applications"
• "Getting rejected"

Then concluding that remote work doesn't work for them.

Sometimes the problem isn't the job search.

It's what you're bringing to the job market.

So before you send another 100 applications, ask yourself:

“If someone gave me a job today, what exactly would I be able to do for them?”

If you don't have a clear answer yet, that's where you start.

And that's exactly what we help beginners do inside our Digital Career Accelerator (DCA).

You learn practical digital skills, understand how the digital work space works, practise what you learn, and start building yourself toward real opportunities.

Our next cohort starts September 30.

If you're tired of saying “I need an online job” and you're ready to actually build the skills that can help you qualify for one:

Comment “VIRTUAL.”

Because here's the shift I want you to make:

Don't just look for a company willing to pay you in dollars.

Become someone a company has a reason to pay.
