Just getting back from a week of vacation in the most stunning place, Alaska. I am so grateful for the time to get away, explore the beauty of this wonderful place called Earth, spend time with family and new friends, eat far too much food, and most importantly recharge, reset, and recover from a busy first half of 2026.

A few observations that I'd love your thoughts on:
✅ Everyone needs time away from the stress (and joy) of work - this allows us to be able to be the best versions of themselves possible
✅ It is important to really turn it off when you are away - work will be there when you get back
✅ Taking time to reflect matters - what do you love, what drains you, what do you want your life to really look like
✅ Being with loved ones makes all the difference in the world - a sense of belonging, being cared for, and being able to care for others is truly what matters most

What are your post-holiday observations? Or if you are heading out this August...what do you hope to gain while you're away? And if you're not taking a holiday any time soon, how else can you incorporate self-care into your summer routine?

I really loved sharing this valuable content with family business leaders on behalf of Conway and Park. We all have conflict in our lives and if you're anything like me, you avoid it at all costs. But rather than avoid it, participants walked away with practical strategies to not only resolve conflict but use it as a way to make the environment even better.

If you need a little support with navigating conflict in your environment, PM me today!

Today’s Leadership Development program focused on navigating conflict and how to initiate and manage it through your leadership process to facilitate successful resolutions. Thank you to Tami Chapek of WeInspireWe for facilitating this session and to Park National Bank, Newark Ohio for sponsoring!

Loved sharing Leadership reDEFYned as a catalyst for individual growth and organizational change with the Center for Operational Excellence at The Ohio State University yesterday! We spent 4 hours together learning how to be not just good, but great leaders - and how to create a culture of authenticity in our environments.

Question: are you showing up as the best version of yourself everyday?

Second Question: are you empowering your team to do the same?

Ready to learn more? PM me today.

Knee surgery update! The brace is off...I repeat, the brace is off!

Friday I was given permission to remove the brace and start more “foot planted” activity like the stationary bike, elliptical, and rowing machine. I walked out of that Dr’s office on cloud 9.

More reflection to share!!

1) It is a very uncomfortable thing when you have your independence and freedom of choice taken away. Giving someone permission to “do their own thing” is a powerful leadership skill and one that should be given to really empower people.
2) When you get that freedom of choice and independence, it feels soooooo good. Even if I choose not to exercise, it’s my choice (and I promise I’m exercising). Imagine how your people feel with that extra autonomy.
3) To quote my doctor “your knee will get worse before it gets better...so move with care”. Getting the freedom to choose and do more means I now have the added responsibility to do consciously choose the best thing for me. Same holds true in how we lead and empower people around us. With freedom comes responsibility (and accountability).
4) Patience is a virtue (and one that I don’t have a lot of). I’m still enjoying having to slow down, take my time, and appreciate what is working (and what isn’t). Leaders also need to slow down and reflect and be intentional with how they move through the world.

That’s all for now. Next check-up (and hopefully more freedom) comes in 6 weeks! In the meantime, I’ll move slow, with intention, and will continue to push to build new muscle and skill.

Thanks for your support!!

Time for a knee surgery update!

I am walking like an almost normal person, can go up the stairs easily and down the stairs with only a tiny limp! Super pleased with my progress at week 3 post-op and already ready for this knee brace to come off.

New Lessons Learned:
- Pushing through the discomfort pays off. I've been super consistent and dedicated to my physical therapy and my recovery is going so much better than expected. Good reminder that we often grow more through pain.
- Compassion matters throughout the entire journey. Even though I'm moving normally and can do most things independently, it's still been so great to have people check in on me, bring me dinner, etc. A good reminder that when people are going through the muck, I should check in not just in the thick of it, but as they heal over time too.
- Giving back is rewarding, even when you don't have a lot to give. I've had the honor of volunteering for a group called WELD over the past few years and even though I was very limited in my abilities to bring our event to life last night, I was still able to contribute to the power of bringing women together. A good reminder that anything you can give can make an impact, regardless of how big or small it is.

More to come as the healing journey continues. Thank you all for your encouragement and support along the way.

More than 50% of coaching clients are employer-sponsored, showing that coaching is now a core component of organizational leadership and development strategies."
