Innovation rarely starts polished. While attending the Adobe Summit 2026 in April and studying for ADO-E138, I realized I needed a better way to study. I needed a system that would provide me with a plethora of sample questions to help me study better.

Instead of waiting for the “perfect” tool, I built my own. It was a simple HTML app with study modules, a quiz engine, an HTL playground, an exam tracker, and even an AI tutor. I called this app the AEM Engine.

While this tool wasn’t pretty, it worked, giving me exactly what I needed to achieve my study goals. And that’s the essence of SaaS innovation:

Build the “first version” first.

Iterate quickly.

Let ex*****on reveal clarity.

I’ve been in the entrepreneurial space for quite a while, and I have seen too many great ideas never see the light of day. Do you know why? Because we wait for the “perfect” conditions.

Creative mastery requires wise planning, but not getting stuck in the planning phase.

Attended the Adobe Summit for the first time this month and officially passed my Adobe Experience Manager certification. Whot! Whot!

A few takeaways worth sharing from Summit:

The biggest theme for me was the move from content to context. With Agentic AEM, AI workflows and Experience Platform, agents are starting to make decisions on websites in real time. The conversation has shifted from "what content do we publish" to "what context do we serve, to whom, and when."

A framework that stuck with me: Acquire, Engage, Convert, Retain and Grow. Simple on the surface, but most brands are currently only really set up for one or two of those stages. Real-Time CDP plus Customer Journey Analytics plus Journey Optimizer is what makes the full loop possible. So much power! :zap:

And my all time favorite when prepping for the certification, Content Fragments are headless, channel agnostic, content as data. Experience Fragments are reusable blocks with layout. Knowing when to use which is half the battle on enterprise AEM projects. (Those who know, know.)
