❌️ 이재명 정부가 호르무즈 해협 파병을 위한 구체적인 준비에 들어갔다는 보도가 잇따르고 있습니다. 정부는 "아직 결정된 것이 없다"고 말하지만, 군사적 기여와 파병을 포함한 여러 선택지를 검토하고 있으며 논의는 이미 상당히 구체적으로 진행되고 있습니다.

☠️ 지난 8월에도 이재명 정부는 트럼프의 전쟁 협력 요구에 대해 “군사적 기여를 검토하고 있다”고 밝혔습니다. 한국이 미국의 전쟁을 지원해선 안 됩니다.

🇵🇸 우리는 이미 미국을 등에 업고 이스라엘이 가자지구에서 벌인 일, 미국이 이란의 무고한 초등학생들과 이란인들을 학살한 것을 통해 이 전쟁이 노리는 걸 똑똑히 봤습니다.

Outrage ensues in a Chicago-Area suburb as an Arab-American minor is violently assaulted by the town’s police department at a town hall.

On August 5th, during public comment at the monthly Oak Lawn Fire & Police Commission meeting in Illinois, a 14-year-old Palestinian-American, whose name was not released due to his age, was set to make a public comment. The commissioner called out his name and mispronounced it.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the minor corrected the commissioner and called him a “jack*ss”. The commissioner then ordered the police to remove him, which led the Oak Lawn Police Department to pick him up and slam him into a counter in the back of the public hall. He was then placed in a chokehold before being forced out of the room.

Since then, multiple civil rights and activist groups - such as the Arab American Action Network (AAAN) and Chicago Alliance Against Racism and Political Repression (CAARPR) have called for accountability and justice, holding demonstrations and organising pressure campaigns.

Organisers have pointed out that Oak Lawn has a history of brutalising Arab-Americans within the city, despite the city having a sizeable Arab population.

In 2022, the Oak Lawn Police Department brutalised another Palestinian-American youth, Hadi Abuatelah, resulting in a large settlement to his family.

Also, in 2023, the Oak Lawn Police Department let an intoxicated woman walk away from the crime scene after she ran over and murdered Murod Kurdi. She received only a traffic ticket.

Activists say the distressing pattern shows the racist nature of the police department and vow to continue demonstrations until accountability and justice are achieved.

An Isr*eli non-profit organisation that specialises in J*rusalem affairs announced on Wednesday August 5, 2026, that Isr*eli authorities intend to construct 2,300 new housing units to expand the illegal Gilo colony, which is situated on P*lestinian property in southwest of Occupied East J*rusalem.

The “Ir Amim” organisation cautioned that the proposal is another step toward further separating Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank from Occupied East J*rusalem.

The group emphasised that at least 28 dunams (6.9 acres) included in the plan were seized from P*lestinian landowners, designated as “state land” and then used to expand the settlement.

SUSPENDED for using one word… “Palestine”

💥 이스라엘의 팔레스타인 학살은 미국의 전폭적인 지원 아래 자행되고 있습니다. 또한 미국은 이란을 공격하며 무고한 민중의 생명과 삶을 앗아가고, 중동의 불안을 더욱 키우고 있습니다.

❌️ 최근, 트럼프는 한국 정부에 군함 파견을 요청했습니다. 한국 정부는 이러한 전쟁과 학살에 결코 동참해서는 안 됩니다.

이를 통해 이스라엘이 지우려 하는 속에서도 유구하게 이어져 온 팔레스타인의 역사와 문화, 그리고 굳건함과 삶의 정신을 많은 사람들과 나누며 연대를 더욱 넓혀 왔습니다. 이러한 한 달간의 활동이 있었기에 이번 집회와 행진 역시 더욱 힘있게 진행될 수 있었습니다.
