Last Tuesday, our 2026 Fellows had the opportunity to visit Google’s Chicago office and learn more about how careers in finance can be built within the tech industry and beyond. Through hands-on experience training AI models and hearing from a panel of “Googlers” with backgrounds spanning multiple industries, these Fellows gained valuable insight to a truth many of us know well: careers are not always linear!

Behind every ATLAS Fellow is a mentor who believed in them first. This summer, that mentor in NYC is Molly Voreacos.
A Teach For America alum and education talent leader, Molly has spent her career developing people and clearing the path for them to grow. We're glad she's bringing that same energy to Fellows this summer.

Meet the ATLAS Fellows 2026 Cohort: 59 of the most talented young people in finance:
This cohort includes valedictorians, debate captains, student body presidents, programmers, and varsity athletes. 13 of them scored a 790 or 800 on the math section of the SAT.
Earlier this week, they began their summer internship at Balyasny Asset Management in either Chicago or New York, where ATLAS's curriculum turns exceptional academic talent into industry-ready skill.

Every ATLAS Fellow has someone in their corner. For Fellows in Chicago, that person is Jose Santos Ortiz.
A Teach For America alum, and first-generation college graduate, Jose brings a perspective to mentorship that is both professional and deeply personal. He knows what it means to navigate systems without a roadmap, and he shows up for Fellows the same way he wishes someone had shown up for him.
We are grateful to have Jose as part of the ATLAS community.
On May 6, Fellows, families, mentors, and partners gathered at The Museum of Modern Art to celebrate the ATLAS Graduates. Surrounded by family, mentors, partners, and supporters, our Fellows reflected on the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that helped shape their journey

When our first-year Fellows walk into Balyasny Asset Management for the first time, they don't always see themselves as belonging. But one summer of real work, real mentorship, and real investment from the people around them changes that.
