🇺🇸 POW★MIA Remembrance Day 🇺🇸

From Reveille to Retreat, Westover Air Reserve Base moved with purpose, discipline, and reverence as our community honored America’s Prisoners of War and Missing in Action — the heroes whose return we still await.The day began with a powerful symbol: the POW★MIA flag carried across the installation, step by deliberate step. Every movement was measured, every pause intentional — a living reminder that the weight of sacrifice is something we choose to carry, not just remember.

Adding to the solemnity, the Chicopee High School JROTC Color Guard stood tall beside AFSA Chapter 109, presenting the colors with precision and pride. Their presence bridged generations of service — young leaders honoring the legacy of warriors who never came home.

Throughout the day, volunteers from across Westover gathered to read the names of local POW/MIA heroes, ensuring their stories echoed across the base and remained etched in our collective memory. Each name spoken was a promise renewed:

We will never forget. We will never stop carrying their legacy. We will never stop speaking their names.

Never Forgotten. Always Remembered.

The POW★MIA wreath has found its final home at American Legion Post 266 in Granby, a community that has long stood as a pillar of strength, service, and unwavering commitment to veterans across the region.

It is more than a symbol. It is a witness. It was present as the flag was carried and the names were spoken — each one a life, a story, a sacrifice. It stood watch as volunteers, veterans, and active personnel from Westover ARB moved with purpose and reverence throughout the day. It observed Westover’s steadfast presence, their quiet professionalism, and their shared devotion to honoring those who have not yet come home.

From the solemn reflection that opened the morning to the solemn pride that closed the evening, the wreath remained — constant, unmoving, resolute.

The wreath symbolizes our eternal remembrance of our brothers and sisters who remain Missing in Action.
It is a circle without end, representing an unbroken commitment to those who served, sacrificed, and never returned. It carries the weight of our gratitude, our sorrow, and our promise — a promise that their memory will not fade, and their absence will not be forgotten.

Placed beside the Missing Man Table, the wreath reminds us that remembrance is not passive.
It is active, enduring, and sacred.

What a wicked awesome night at Polar Park! 🎉
A huge thank you to the 50 amazing attendees who came out to cheer on the WooSox and spend a summer evening together. The conversations, the laughs, and the family memories made this event something truly special. 💙👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

From kids running the bases to Airmen and families connecting over food, fun, and baseball — great times were had all around. Nights like this remind us why community matters and why AFSA continues to show up for the Westover family. 🇺🇸🦅

Not official pillars — but every Former CMSAF, First Sergeant, Command Chief, and senior leader repeated the same message: we’re standing at the edge of a new generation of Airmen.

AFSA Summit 26 showed that the Air Force is shifting into a new era — one built on holistic fitness, family strength, spiritual grounding, leadership transparency, and deliberate mentorship.

🇺🇸🦅 AFSA Chapter 109 at the AFSA International Conference! 🦅🇺🇸

Chapter 109 was proud to represent Westover ARB and Division 1 at this year’s International Conference! Our President, Secretary, and Social Media Executive joined 59 other chapters in attendance, and the energy and commitment in the room were unreal.

Our Chapter President stepped up in a big way — presenting during the Parade of Checks and helping raise over $43,000 for AFSA charities 💵🎉.

He also served as Master of Ceremony for the International President's Dinner, honoring award and scholarship recipients alongside AFSA leadership, CMSAF #21, former CMSAFs, and partner organizations 🎤✨.

AFSA shared several major updates:
🏛️ The organization is preparing to sell its DC headquarters, but will remain in the area to keep legislative momentum strong.

📜 Legislative advocacy remains the heart of AFSA’s mission, pushing forward wins like:
1️⃣ Strengthened Basic Needs Allowance
2️⃣ Expanded mental health and TRICARE access
3️⃣ Increased housing and barracks funding
