In 1989, Reggie and Vincent hit #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their song, “I Wanna Be Rich.” What followed was a string of hits, "Sir Lancelot" (Top 20 R&B), "All the Way" and "Let's Get Smooth.” Throughout the decades the brothers have expanded into other areas of entertainment and education, but music will always be their first love. In 2024 the band is celebrating 35 years of “I Wanna Be Rich” with shows and new music on the horizons.

September brought a special moment for Calloway. 🎷✨

On September 11, Reggie and Vincent took part in the 2026 Greater Sacramento Urban Music Awards, where “BWAO”was nominated for Best Jazz Instrumental. The night also brought the Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring Reggie and Vincent’s decades of work as performers, songwriters, and producers.

The celebration continued on September 12, when Reggie joined the Independent Music Conference, presented by the California Creative Arts Society, as a panel speaker at Jay King’s event. Industry voices came together to talk about the opportunities and challenges shaping independent music today.

Grateful for the recognition, the community, and the conversations. Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey.

September 6 Pack Pillar - Financial 💰

Real financial fitness isn’t a number — it’s the habits behind it. It’s building in flexibility for whatever life throws your way, having enough breathing room to actually sleep at night, and laying a foundation strong enough to carry you forward.

Which part of your financial foundation are you working on this month?

Same horizon, same journey, still moving forward together.

Sacramento family — mark your calendars. The Independent Music Conference is coming to the Guild Theatre on Sept 12th, and it's FREE (first 200 to register only, so don't sleep on this one).

A full day of masterclasses, industry panels, career-development labs, and networking for musicians, producers, songwriters, and everyone building a career in this business. This is exactly the kind of ecosystem independent artists need — I'll be cheering it on from right here in Sacramento.

Legends in one room.

Reggie caught up with Smokey Robinson and Eddie Holland for Smokey's Soul Town on SiriusXM — three generations of soul and songwriting under one roof. Moments like this are a reminder of how deep the roots of this music really go, and how grateful we are to still be part of the conversation.

Thank you, Smokey, for the love and for keeping soul music's legacy alive on the airwaves.

🎧 "BWAO" is streaming now on Spotify. 💙

This one's our first jazz release in 34 years — a slow, sensual groove built around a dreamy falsetto chorus. Vincent's playing the entire horn section on this track (trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, mellophone, soprano sax), Reggie's on flute and vocals, and six-time GRAMMY® winner Rob Chiarelli laid down the drums underneath it all.

But more than the arrangement, "BWAO" is a feeling. It's a greeting, a goodbye, a philosophy — our way of celebrating the people we love and the ones we work alongside every day.

🎷 The visuals for "BWAO" are here.

We wanted the video to feel the way the song feels — slow, warm, a little hazy, like a late night that doesn't want to end. Watching it back, you can really see everything that went into this one: Vincent moving between five different horns, that falsetto chorus floating over the top, Rob Chiarelli's drum track holding it all down underneath.

"BWAO" has always meant more to us than just a song title. It's how we greet people, how we say goodbye, how we think about family and the folks we get to make music with. This video is our way of putting that feeling into pictures.

🎶 Flashback to 1992 🎶 "The Sound of One Hand Clapping" from Let's Get Smooth has stood the test of time — over three decades later, it's still as smooth as ever.
