Late last year, ListenCLE was one of the community partners for the Greater Cleveland Music Census, spearheaded by Sound Music Cities, Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future, Cleveland Independent Venue Association, and the Cleveland Foundation... and now the results are in!

With the second-most responses of any city in the 2024 census cohort - behind only Nashville - this survey shows what we've known all along: that there's an astounding amount of talent in CLE, and more people should be paying attention to that!

If you want to learn more about the census, the results, and how those will be used to move forward initiatives to make our music community even more vibrant and sustainable, there's a free event TONIGHT at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, at 6:30, followed by a concert on the Rock Hall Plaza with LILIEAE and Songstress Jo & the Familiar!

We've been a little quiet in 2024, but ListenCLE is back with an exciting opportunity for local performers.

We have several downtown areas designated for supported busking (performers will receive a stipend in addition to any tipping) to provide street entertainment during a large national conference, August 10th-13th.

We would LOVE to see a wide range of acts join us for this event: artists (live art/painting), performance artists (living statues, drag acts, etc), circus/acrobatic performers, musicians, magicians - you name it, we'd love to find a way to get you out and about with us!

Wrapping up our summer series with the Cleveland Botanical Garden this Thursday is The Bewilderness!

A unique performance duo out of Cleveland OH, The Bewilderness is equal parts one-man-band and one-woman circus. Musically driven by the live-looping wizardry of Michael McFarland, the sound of The Bewilderness combines aggressively catchy melodies and soul-filled lyrics in McFarland’s refreshing take on indie rock. Alongside McFarland’s musical architecture, dancer Amanda Nyx fuses elements of traditional and modern dance styles with circus traditions of prop manipulation and sideshow acts to create stunning visuals that bring McFarland’s music to life. Family friendly and fun for all ages, this duo is festival favorite - especially when Nyx brings a touch of circus to the audience as she invites them to join the act!
