Hospice foster needed for Bruno, who has kidney disease after spending the hot summer begging for handouts from people leaving Bruno's restaurant on Cleveland's west side. He is a sweetheart in need of a gentle home for whatever time he has left to finally be loved and comfortable. He was surrounded by gnats when we found him Aug. 9 on West 41st Street. He's now vaccinated and neutered. Can you pamper him for a while?

Bo is a big beauty who loves to cuddle. And we mean Maine Coon-like big. Obviously a former house cat, the neutered boy lost a bunch of weight struggling to find food as a stray in Medina County. We have another black kitten to share. Hayden is exceptional -- clever, loving and brave. He was loaded with fleas and wandering in Wadsworth earlier this month, when he was plucked from the streets by a man recently released from prison and unable to keep him. Hayden, about 4 months old, will be neutered Aug. 27 and ready for his new home. Check out his photo and note the chocolate undertones in his beautiful black coat.

Sweetheart young lady Madison will be available for adoption next week. A CSU student, working fulltime and studying physics, made the time to pull her off the streets just before she got pregnant. In heat this week, she'll be spayed and vaccinated Tuesday at the Cleveland APL, for just $20! Spread the word and grab the strays near you. They, too, can be altered for just $20. In fact, the Cleveland APL will take in any injured, sick or pregnant cat without an appointment Monday through Friday -- drop off between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. and pick up between 4 and 5 p.m. It's an awesome service that far too few people know about. Spread the word, and grab the strays! You, too, can do TNR for the friendly strays in your hood!

Immigration agents have rounded up and arrested hundreds of thousands of immigrants. Left behind are their dogs, cats, bunnies and chickens.

Many of these homeless pets are consigned to the streets. In Minnesota, an animal-services agency recorded a 38 percent increase in stray, seized and relinquished cats and dogs; a rescue group said it had received nearly twice as many surrendered pets early this year as it did during the same period last year.

So animal welfare groups are scrambling to feed and foster them. A recent adoption listing in New Orleans described Heinz, a Shih Tzu-poodle mix, as sweet, happy and energetic. “But he also has a sad story,” the listing said — he “lost his family” during Trump’s immigration raids.

Check out lover boy, buff Buddy! His days of fighting to survive in Wadsworth are over. He wants to be in the same room as you, without being obtrusive. He also talks to you, checking in with coos and meows. You'll need to teach him how to play. He is 5 or 6 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FeLV negative. He is FIV+, which doesn't much matter now that his sexy, fighting days are over. He does well with other cats -- total peacenik.
