Developed by Lamassu Biotech, ๐๐๐๐ (๐elective ๐ctivator of ๐ฉ๐๐) is a novel therapeutic, currently in human trials, that targets p53 wild-type sarcomas, malignant tumors of connective or non-epithelial tissue. SA53 works by triggering the bodyโs natural defense mechanism, p53, which inhibits or blocks a protein called MDM2. MDM2 is the most important factor that regulates or blocks a protein called p53. p53 works by suppressing or โputting the brakes onโ the ability of cancers to grow, spread, and resist anti-cancer treatments. The p53 pathway is one of the most important natural defense mechanisms your body has against cancer.

Often called the โGuardian of the Genome,โ p53 is a crucial tumor suppressor gene that prevents tumor formation by inducing programmed cell death. When the DNA in a cell becomes damaged p53 plays a critical role in determining whether the cancerous cell survives. If the DNA can be repaired, p53 activates other genes to fix the damage. If the DNA cannot be repaired, The Guardian prevents the cell from dividing and signals it to undergo apoptosis. By stopping cells with mutated or damaged DNA from dividing, p53 helps prevent the development of tumors.

Known as the โGuardian of the Genome,โ the body's p53 protein is a crucial tumor suppressor gene commonly mutated in human cancers. Lamassu BioTech's innovative, genetically targeted treatment, SA53, is a novel therapeutic that works by triggering p53, which inhibits or blocks the MDM2 protein.
Lamassuโs ongoing human clinical trial focuses on achieving a safe dosage for future trials, understanding pharmacokinetic profiles, and assessing early signs of effectiveness in treating soft tissue sarcomas and solid tumors with wild type p53.
