Keep grinding.

At 40 years old, I can honestly say I built myself without a father figure in my life.

My mother carried the weight of both roles and for that, I’ll always be grateful. She taught me strength, sacrifice, and how to keep moving forward when life gives you every reason to quit.

I’ve built businesses. I’ve raised a family. I’ve created a life I’m proud of.

But if I’m being truthful, there will always be a part of me that wonders what it would’ve felt like to have a father in my corner. Someone to call when things were hard. Someone to celebrate the wins with. Someone who simply wanted the best for me.

I don’t spend much time dwelling on it, because the truth is, my journey made me who I am. The struggles shaped me. The absence taught me lessons that presence never could.

Still, some accomplishments feel different when there’s no father to share them with.

So today, I’m grateful for my mother. Grateful for the life I’ve built. Grateful for the man I’ve become.

And maybe that’s the lesson: sometimes we become the person we needed growing up.

Not because it was easy.
Because we had no other choice.
