Have you ever had a Google Ad rejected or penalized because your park name did not perfectly match your website domain? Or maybe you have been forced to display a clunky, keyword-stuffed URL in your ad copy instead of your actual, recognizable brand name.

Google is finally rolling out a massive relief valve for small business owners and outdoor hospitality operators. Starting October 16, 2026, Google Ads is updating its Business Name Policy to allow verified advertisers to use a business name that differs from their destination domain.

Earlier this year, Google clamped down hard on ad assets. If there was even a tiny discrepancy between your ads and your verified Google Business Profile, your ads faced warnings, lower ad strength, or outright rejection. This was a major headache for campgrounds operating under a Doing Business As name, parks using localized domain names for SEO, or owners whose booking buttons direct guests to third-party reservation systems.

Under this new update, Google is introducing much-needed flexibility. You can now use your actual, recognizable brand name in your ads, even if it differs from the domain name, provided you meet three strict criteria.

First, your displayed business name must accurately represent your actual brand.

Second, you must have a verified, direct relationship with the domain owner.

Third, your products or services must be directly offered on that destination domain.

To keep bad actors from exploiting this, Google is excluding third-party resellers, independent booking intermediaries, and affiliate distributors. But for legitimate, verified campground and RV park owners, this is an incredible opportunity to build immediate trust, increase your click-through rates, and keep your brand identity consistent across the web.

Are you planning to change your displayed ad name once this update goes live? Or are you unsure if your current booking engine domain and DBA setup will pass Google's new verification criteria?

If you use Google Business Profile posts to share updates, events, or promotions, a quiet policy change from Google could be actively holding your visibility back right now.

Google recently rolled out a major update to its post content policy. While they have technically loosened the rules around phone numbers, they have made the system much stricter overall.

Previously, there was a blanket ban on phone numbers in post descriptions. Now, Google allows phone numbers in posts, but only if they are verified as directly connected to your business. However, any unverified phone numbers, email addresses, and social media handles are now explicitly flagged for automatic rejection or removal.

Many businesses use a standard template for their updates, pasting a tracking phone number, email address, or Instagram handle at the end of their posts to encourage quick conversions. Doing this under the new policy carries severe risks.

Your posts could be automatically rejected or removed retroactively, causing you to lose valuable real estate on Google Maps and search results. Even worse, repeatedly violating these automated filters can lead to broader restrictions or total profile suspension.

There is also a major hurdle for businesses that track their marketing. If you use dynamic tracking numbers to measure your phone calls, Google's automated systems will likely flag them as unverified because they do not match your primary listed number, resulting in a rejected post.

To keep your local visibility intact and avoid these filters, here are three immediate actions you can take.

First, stop typing raw contact details in your post descriptions. Do not paste email addresses, social handles, or unlisted phone numbers in the text body of your updates.

Second, rely on Google's built-in call to action buttons. The Call Now button automatically routes users to your primary verified number safely. The Learn More or Book Now buttons can direct users to a secure page on your website where your email and social links are hosted.

Third, if you must use an alternative phone number, add it to your profile first. Navigate to Edit Profile, go to Contact, and add the additional number as a secondary contact. Once Google approves this change, it is much more likely to pass the automated post-verification check.

Save this post so you have a quick checklist to reference for your next update, or share it with whoever manages your digital marketing.

If you are noticing your Google posts getting rejected and want a second set of eyes on your setup, send us a direct message with the word GOOGLE and we will help you troubleshoot your profile.

Getting tired of the constant pressure to post perfect photos and videos on Instagram just to fill your campsites? Meta just made a massive change that might be your new favorite marketing shortcut.

Meta has officially separated Threads from Instagram for advertisers. This means you can now run ad campaigns directly on Threads without needing an active Instagram account or even matching usernames. It is now a completely independent platform.

If you have struggled to keep up with the visual demands of Instagram while managing day-to-day park operations, this is a game-changer. Threads is a conversation-first, text-heavy platform. It is built for real-time dialogue and community, meaning you can focus on quick updates, guest interactions, and conversational ads instead of stressing over high-end graphic design.

Beyond saving you time on content creation, the ad economics right now are incredibly favorable for park owners looking to stretch their marketing budgets for the upcoming booking seasons.

Because this is still a fresh advertising channel, Threads currently offers a massive early-mover advantage. Average ad costs are running between 8 and 15 dollars CPM, compared to the 20 to 35 dollars you would typically pay on Instagram feed placements. On top of that, engagement rates on Threads are hovering between 3 and 6 percent, which significantly outperforms Instagram's average of 1.5 to 3 percent.

The backend logistics are simple. You can manage everything through Meta Ads Manager just like your Facebook ads, but you now have independent access controls and task-based permissions within your Meta Business Portfolio. You do not need to link your platforms, allowing you to build a completely unique identity just for your Threads audience.

Does the idea of a text-first platform sound easier for your park than constantly keeping up with Instagram photos?

Running a campground means you are wearing ten different hats at once, and guest questions do not stop when the front office closes.

Whether it is a late-night inquiry about the Wi-Fi password or a guest trying to find their campsite after dark, these small moments can pull you away from your family or keep your staff chained to the desk.

Using simple AI-driven automation can handle these repetitive questions instantly, ensuring your guests get immediate answers while you get your evenings back.

We put together a simple checklist showing the three easiest automated responses you can set up today to save hours this week.

Ever feel like running Google Ads for your campground or RV park is like throwing money into a black box and hoping bookings pop out?

You are not alone. For a long time, automated ad campaigns have made decisions behind closed doors, leaving outdoor hospitality operators wondering exactly how their budgets were being spent.

This month, Google wrapped up its automatic migration of legacy Search campaigns to their new AI Max system. If you run ads to get more campers to your property, your campaigns have likely already been upgraded.

To address the industry demand for transparency, Google has announced a brand-new unified reporting tool specifically designed to open up that black box.

Instead of forcing you to pull three separate reports and manually piece them together, this new interface maps out the entire camper journey in a single view.

You will be able to see the exact search term a camper typed, the specific ad copy and images they saw, and the exact page of your website they landed on, all in one row.

This means you can easily audit your campaign to ensure your budget is driving high-quality traffic to your booking engine rather than wasting money on irrelevant searches.

While this reporting feature will roll out fully later this year, Google is already planning its next major shift: moving all Dynamic Search Ads to AI Max in February 2027.

Understanding these updates now is crucial for planning your marketing budgets and ensuring your park is set up for a successful spring booking season.

To protect your brand and budget in the meantime, remember that natural-language AI prompts are just soft guidelines. You still need to rely on traditional tools like account-level negative keywords and exclusion lists to keep tight control over where your money goes.

Save this post to keep these Google timeline dates handy for your upcoming planning sessions, or share it with a fellow operator running ads for their park.

If you feel like your Google Ads campaigns have been running inside a black box lately, you are not alone. Throughout September, Google has been automatically upgrading legacy Search campaigns to its new AI Max framework. For campground and RV park owners, this transition has caused some understandable anxiety about losing control over where booking budgets are actually being spent.

But there is some reassuring news on the horizon. Google just announced two major updates designed to lift the curtain on AI advertising and give operators back their control.

First, Google is introducing a unified search journey report later this year. Currently, if you want to see how a camper actually booked a site, you have to piece together data from three separate reports: what they searched, what ad they saw, and what page they landed on.

The upcoming unified report will put all of this on a single row of data. You will see the exact query (like pull-through RV sites with 50-amp service), the specific AI-generated ad headline they clicked, and the exact page on your website they visited. For outdoor hospitality brands, this means complete transparency. You will know exactly which queries are driving high-value bookings and which ones are wasting your hard-earned budget.

Second, Google is expanding its AI Brief guidance tool to seven new languages, including Spanish, French, German, and Dutch. This tool is a game-changer because it replaces complex keyword bidding with natural language.

Instead of setting up messy keyword rules, you can write a simple paragraph in plain English to guide the AI. For example, you can tell the system: Focus entirely on families looking for weekly cabin rentals, and avoid searches for cheap overnight tent camping. With the multilingual expansion, if your park attracts international travelers or bilingual guests, you can now write these guardrails in the exact language of your target audience to ensure your ads stay culturally accurate and relevant.

These updates show that while Google is moving fast toward automation, they are listening to the industry's need for transparency and relevance. You do not have to let AI run wild with your marketing budget.

How has the September transition to AI Max been affecting your campground’s booking volume? Have you noticed any shifts in your traffic, or are you still trying to locate where your data went in the new dashboard?
