Until we are equal...

Equality Ohio showed up in Chauncey Ohio yesterday to speak against ORDINANCE 2026-02! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

An Ordinance to Repeal Ordinance 2024-03 (Unlawful Discriminatory Practices) essentially repealing their LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination protections for housing, employment, and public accommodations. ๐Ÿšจ

Thanks to an exceptional amount of local community members including Quakers and seniors AND LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations like those in our joint statement to Chauncey leadership, the vote failed with 2 in favor of repealing and 3 against! ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒˆ

This was a special alignment of local, statewide and legal work with Councilmembers Cullen, Taylor, and Skees who voted against repealing.ย Thank you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

A perfect live time example of why GETTING INVOLVED is so important in keeping our rainbow borders strong!

The DOJ just forced the Cleveland Clinic into a decades-long ban on gender-affirming care for minors, and has required the creation of a โ€œdetransition clinic.โ€

This goes beyond Ohioโ€™s HB 68, which already stripped this care from young Ohioans.

Healthcare decisions belong to patients, families, and medical providers. Not politicians.

Equality Ohio is fighting for an Ohio where everyone has access to science-based, compassionate care.ย

๐ŸŒˆ Cleveland Pride was absolutely amazing! ๐Ÿ“ฃ Equality Ohio felt all of the love! The booth was full of life and engagement from the moment the Pride started to the moment it ended. People from all over flocked to equality Ohio to hear about the Local, legal & Statewide work we do. Ohio legal clinic information, newsletter set ups and candidate scorecards left people wanting more and more. Cleveland Pride owes us nothing. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ From music to dancing with attendees it felt like a much needed light. Pride is very much alive and well!

was a whomping success! Such a turnout of incredible community turned up! Equality Ohio was on the ground meeting the regionโ€™s eclectic array from activists, auditors and awesome allies. We handed out giveaways, got tons of newsletter signups, answered all questions, resourced visitors to our legal and name and gender clinics, had hugely positive reactions to our work and many participated in the new legal needs assessment we are running! Most importantly, we calmed fears and inspired hearts to join us on the road back to equality. Meeting our people across Ohio is certainly the best part of this job! HAPPY HAMILTON OHIO PRIDE!
